Our U21 squad/team
Our U21's still don't seem to be doing that well. I really felt like they would have pushed on by now. I know it's not a simple process, but I expected AP and VK to really invest in the U21's.
Maybe I'm just being impatient.
It's tricky as an exile to truly keep up with the progress...can anyone tell me I'm wrong?

Re: Our U21 squad/team
We are currently below Hull, Fleetwood & Barnsley in the U21 table.
Re: Our U21 squad/team
We have a fair chunk of the squad out on loan eg Lewis, Mellon etc

I thought that kid Jez Davies looked a good player in preseason

It's very hard to judge until they start playing league football, i have seen a lot of potential at the training ground over many years start out but for one reason or another fall to the wayside and i also feel a lot of pressure is put on them which doesn't help.

Yeah, we've had a few hot prospects that haven't really worked out.Clive 1960 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 11:28 amIt's very hard to judge until they start playing league football, i have seen a lot of potential at the training ground over many years start out but for one reason or another fall to the wayside and i also feel a lot of pressure is put on them which doesn't help.

We appear to play a lot of our youth team in U21 games. Understand giving them experience against older and physically stronger opponents but not sure getting beaten is a good mindset. Mellon must be the best prospect atm

Re: Our U21 squad/team
The Under 21s have played 12 competitive games this season and have won 5, drawn 4 and lost 3. I am sure that, had that been the first team, we would have been well pleased with that.

I think those who have seen him play might consider Joe Bauress to be one of our best prospects. He was a regular in the U21s last season aged only 17.
Played for England U18s. But he's been out injured all season.
