No doubt they would have lost too , but I sense a League 1 side would have given Everton a tougher game tonight. You dont need to be Pep to know Palace's game plan Saturday

Not a big fan of Muric so renowned style of goalkeeping and passing. The ones crying for him can tone down.
Cork and brownhill drowned... Robert came in for a tired and beat vitinho and actually managed to perform worse.
Still can't blame the guys who started the game I thought they gave it all they got. For me Burnley is a better team than Everton and we will beat them the next game.

You got to be joking about Muric?ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:48 pmDidn't think we played anywhere near as bad as the last two games. Scoreline flattered them but they certainly didn't have to work hard for it. Poor in our own 6 yard box. Will ultimately be out downfall if we don't fix it.
Muric showed us exactly what we've been missing. So much better building out from the back. Shame we couldn't go do anything with it.

It feels like to few players have any affinity with the club, just players looking for a good payday and a bit of exposure in England

You really are a piece of work. Go watch another team if you only see the bad in our team We were massively better than we have played recently. That doesn’t mean we were perfect or the finished article, just better.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:48 pmThey should have won by 5/6 tonight if there finishing was better.
Re: Everton match thread
We did but I think a bit of it was because Everton didn't press as high as Trafford's experienced. Instead Dyche just let us **** about with it, knowing full well we'll eventually give it away.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:50 pmOne absolute certainty is we look miles better with Muric in goal.

Re: Everton match thread
We played better than the last two but created less and conceded with the same ease. I wouldn’t get too seduced by how we played tonight, Everton just sat off us, let us pass the ball around and waited until we inevitably gave it away cheaply and dangerously before pouncing in numbers. Lots of the ‘lesser’ teams will do that this season as we have a soft underbelly and can’t create anything against an organised 11. If the opposition is disciplined against us they are almost guaranteed 2 goals and more than likely a clean sheet.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:48 pmDidn't think we played anywhere near as bad as the last two games. Re: Everton match thread
Incredible to think how good we were last season, and how poor we have become this season! I understand confidence will be low at the moment, but where is the fight, desire, willingness to work?? Just a bizarre experience watching us at the moment, and something has to change and quick or Mr Pace will be forced into making a change.

This must be one of the worst Burnley teams since the days of Waddle. In fact I think I would rather have Blatherwick and Howey as our defensive pair now!! This season is spiralling out of control and I don’t know when it will stop.

Re: Everton match thread
Considering Trafford has been slated for the number of goals we concede and being detrimental to our play, how has 3-0 and 1 shot on target shown this? Everton barely pushed on and it shows that Muric really only had one save to make.Taffy on the wing wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:50 pmOne absolute certainty is we look miles better with Muric in goal.
Can keep saying it but the GK is not the problem in this team.

Everton literally sat back an let us have the ball. We did nothing.
Worst performance of the season for me. There supposed to be a relegation rival and they literally treated it like a pre season friendly

FFS DO ONE!!! You won’t be happy until someone says Trafford is amazing. He is a good keeper but Muric fits our style better and it showed tonight.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:51 pmHaha better at what? ******* about more at the back
Re: Everton match thread
Could be just Dyche deciding to let us play in as much as we like in our defensive third, but we didn't cause ourselves trouble all night with dogger GK passing for a start, so that's one in the Muric column.

No Cullen on Saturday. Be interesting to see who VK picks in the midfield. I’m of the opinion he needed dropping anyway as he’s really struggling (probably just not good enough). Maybe time to give Massengo a go.

Only option for me is to stick Cork in there for O'Shea - at least a bit of leadership at the back. I know it's not his natural position but to at least get one of these two out of the team it has to be an option.

I'm not convinced that THB would have been a massive improvement on what we have.

No idea they’re an absolute calamity. We’ve nothing from full back with Delcroix and Vitinho either.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 9:58 pmOnly option for me is to stick Cork in there for O'Shea - at least a bit of leadership at the back. 10,000,000,000 pennies for Pace’s thoughts.
Re: Everton match thread
We’ve had years of having a ‘strong jaw’ and now we’re more like Amir Khan. I’m all for nice football but you need some organisation to go with it when you’re a small club in the premier league.

Score line didn’t flatter them one bit, they had 2 good chances at the end that they didn’t take. We were an absolute shambles tonight. Can’t defend. Can’t attack.
Onto the next - with Muric hopefully. Vinny is cutting his nose off to spite his face because he is a cut above 100% there’s just Vinny can’t see it.
And yes I went tonight, currently racking my brains to remember us having a shot, we made them look like City.

Leadership from a youngster is OK when you’re winning. Quite how he would have coped in the situation we now find ourselves in, I’m not sure.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 10:02 pmI think he would have given us some leadership at the back
This team needs an older, experienced head at the back, a quality defensive midfielder and a pair of full backs.
Build a foundation to play from and we might be somewhere near.
