We played better today. More organised, more orthodox , more expirence in midfield.
Need to get Foster in that team and we are there.

Trafford 6
Vitinho 7 best performance of the season
O Shea 5
Beyer 6 organised the defence but made the mistake
Taylor 7
Berge 6
Brownhill 6
JBG 8 did more in first 4 mins than Tresor in all his minutes
Koleosho 8 end product will come
Amdouni 7 needs Foster
Jay 6

It was progress, unlike the Bournemouth, Everton & Brentford games.

Trafford 5 - two touches every time invites pressure and nearly got him a broken ankle, against a side set up like Palace it was tailor made for Muric
Vitinho 6 - some good moments but was chasing shadows when they had the ball
O’Shea 5 - keen but lacks the quality we need, although his long ball passing stats are good over the season
Beyer 6 - big improvement to our passing and composure but inexplicable error not hoofing that ball out of play, which must be down to naive coaching, like a pressing trigger it is when to do it and when not to, we get it wrong regularly
Taylor 7 - fairly tidy and got forward well
Beyer 8 - played the Cullen role better than Cullen, for much of it he was in a single pivot
Brownhill 6 - a role that meant he roamed all over midfield and this helped our near total dominance
Gudmundsson 5 - some poor deliveries from open play, all crosses and little craft, missed 2 great chances
Amdouni 6 - started really well but faded and was left on way too long, the sub timings were very poor
Koleosho 8 - showed why it was a huge error to play him on the right several times, had a good experienced right back on toast and for all the moaning about end product he had 1 tipped over, another tackled last ditch and also set up the best chance of the game
Rodriguez 6 - decent but limited at his age, nearly scored

That we are not scoring the subs sums up some bizarre decisions yet again but the lineup wasn’t far off and in Berge and Koleosho the manager was vindicated and really unlucky not to win the game. There remained naivety though but if we play like this regularly we will get plenty of wins including away vs bottom half teams. I think we will stay up.

Pretty solid display against a very average Palace who were lucky to come away with a win due to our gifting of another goal. Think Eduard was lucky not to see red after that reckless challenge on Trafford. We look so toothless without Foster though. Not shelling out for Tella is looking a bigger mistake as each game goes by.

Trafford 5 - Time for Muric, although that should have happened weeks ago.
Vitinho 6 - Did ok
O’Shea 5 - The lad tries hard, but he's blatantly not up to it. Bad bad signing
Beyer 6 - Mark off for the mistake, otherwise did well, especially for his first game back
Taylor 7 - Good game, didn't do much wrong
Berge 7 - A lot better than I've seen him recently
Brownhill 7 - Thought he was good today
Gudmundsson 7 - Fairly composed display
Amdouni 6 - Not really sure what he offers other than some nice carries on occasion
Koleosho 7 - We need him to be our Tella replacement, big ask for a young lad
Rodriguez 6 - Not up to it any more, but could have bagged a couple

Once again, poor recruitment is coming to haunt us. No real backup striker and iffy defence / GK whilst our 7 wingers all struggle for game time .

Trafford 5 a little hesitant with the ball, play the simple pass faster.

Vitinho 6 worked his arse off, evidently lacks quality though.

Beyer 5 excellent bar the huge mistake

Dara 7 pick of the defence for me, couple of sloppy passes, no blame for the 2nd goal tried his best to keep the ball in play when under normal circumstances he allows it to go out.

Taylor 5 pretty poor delivery, he lack off movement doesn’t help us with the build up.

JBG 5 meh

Berge 8* superb performance imo, shocked by the low marks, composure strength quality, dictated the game from that deep position. I don’t think he lost the ball once. If that was Defour people would be raving.

Brownhill 5 not a fan of his set pieces.

Koleosho 6 glimpses of his ability, the type of player to beat 5 players then cross it into row Z. Poor end product really

Amdouni 6 brilliant young talent, so much ability absolutely nothing fell for him today though. He might have the best close control I have seen at BFC.

Jay 4 slow wasteful very one dimensional, Jay used to be a clever good neat footballer, he’s a static brute these days, good for a header.

It’s difficult to rate above a 5 for everybody, but I’d give koleosho & berge a 7, koleosho was a bright spark & give ward the runaround in all honesty if a teenager couldn’t do that to a 34 year old it’d be alarming within itself & berge was composed just looked a cut above the rest in quality.

Trafford 6 Bored with it now, Muric should have started
Vitinho 5 Didn't block his man off on the goal
O'Shea 5 Hmmmm
Beyer 6 Defence is better with him, was he rushed back too soon.
Taylor 6
JBG 6 All these new wingers and he still starts
Berge 7 MOM
Brownhill 5, please stop him taking corners....please
Koleosho 6 no end product. We know Zaroury can score
Amdouni 5 Don't really know what he is, not a striker not a midfielder not a winger
Rodriguez 5 Slow, why why didn't we bring in another striker especially for the number of times Foster wouldn't be available.

Subs too late

Relegation classic: dominated, couldn't score, lost the game. We are going down.

This was the most obvious result of the whole programme of fixtures. The wily and vast experienced Hodgson up against the totally out of his depth Kompany, and so it proved.

This was a performance that was an improvement on previous ones, but objectively, we are just sh1t. That's it. Just sh1t. Crystal Palace literally didn't offer anything in attack, just waited for us to make an error at the back to pounce on, and then just swatted away our attempts at attacks.

The aim of the season for me now is to try and get more than 15 points just so that we don't completely and utterly embarrass ourselves.

All those confident that we'll walk the Championship again will turn out to be just as right as those saying we'd finish top 10 this season, I suspect. What's far more likely to happen is that we spend the next few years trying to get the likes of Trafford, Berge, Amdouni, Odobert, Tresor, and Ramsey off the books by sending them out on a series of loans. These are players with no heart for the battle, no personality, and definitely no leadership qualities. We're a team of fair weather footballers who just want to pass it between themselves without getting their shorts dirty.
I thought you weren't going to bother us with your negativity anymore?.....

Trafford 6 - blameless afternoon for our custodian
Vitinho 7 - played well in a defence that had little to do. Excellent cross in the second minute for Amdouni
O’ Shea 5 - not a fan of his but did ok until his blooper in injury time
Beyer 4 - crucial mistake that in the end gifted the points to Palace
Taylor 7 - back to his usual consistency after last week’s aberration
Brownhill 7 - part of a midfield that limited the opposition to few if any opportunities they created themselves and conversely set up 17 shots
Berge 7 - did a good job but had time and space due to Palace defending on the half way line
JBG 7 - as per above but got on the end of a couple of good chances as well.
Koleosho 8 - our only consistent threat up front, substitution was puzzling
Amdouni 4 - wandering minstrel, absolute bobbins header in second minute. Might score another goal before we play Forest again
Jayrod 5 -TINA, however came closest to scoring

Subs: disappointed with Redmond in his brief cameo, difficult to tell in his short spell, but looked laboured and for all his experience passed the ball into touch in injury time just when we needed to keep up the pressure on the oppo.

Crosspool you must have watched a different game “really unlucky not to win the game”? Is that a joke?

Trafford 6 (Largely a spectator and yet loses the game 2-0. Did nothing wrong.)
Vitihno 6
O'Shea 5
Beyer 5
Taylor 7 (Really tried hard to get us going offensively which tbf isn't his strong point)
JBG 5 (-1 for missing the target when it looked easier to score and would have changed the game entirely)
Brownhill 7
Berge 7
Koleosho 7
Amdouni 7
Jayrod 5

Redmond 6 (tried to inject some urgency at least)

Palace were bang average and imo lacked the flair and the ambition to really go at us. They created barely anything yet won comfortably 2-0 because yet again we made a cock up when we were playing well and in control which allowed them to then sit back and easily soak up what we had to throw at them, which as it turned out was precious little. We did however make the one clear chance to change the game and JBG simply has to score and with 25 minutes or so still left we'd have been right in it and I'd have backed us to win. Their goalie also made a great save from Jay's header, but that really was it from us despite all our huffing and puffing and at times pretty football. The second goal only comes about because we're chasing the game right at the death and I can forgive that, but it really shouldn't have come to that.

Trafford 6 - some sloppy passing, no chance with goals
Vitinho 6 - did alright, a good, switched on defender sense the danger for their goal, though
O’Shea 4 - I felt he struggled with any progressive passing
Beyer 5 - major error but the defence looked far better with him in
Taylor 5 - some good deliveries but probably the type of game you need a Maatsen to help break teams down
JBG 6 - adds to our shape/structure but simply has to hit the target (score) with that chance
Berge 7* - classy again, looks like our best signing
Brownhill 6 - thought he and Berge looked good together
Koleosho 7 - so positive, direct, exciting… created a big chance for JBG, but still very raw which can be frustrating
Amdouni 6 - thought he was effective when we were able to get him involved, would like to see him in that role alongside Foster
Rodriguez 4 - just no

Redmond 4 - really poor cameo
Odobert 5 - nothing of note really

Unfortunately we seem very reliant on a few players, notably Beyer and Foster. Beyer, despite his error, made the defence look more assured today. While it’s not uncommon for teams to miss their best players (City and Rodri springs to mind) I feel their replacements are quite significant downgrades. This was another game, like United at home, which was crying out for Foster’s physicality, extra pace and skill to stretch Anderson and Guehi (who were brilliant). Foster and Beyer have now been unavailable for half of our games so far, it’s simply a must that they play most of our games from here otherwise we’re done for.

Trafford 6 - had nothing to do and not much he could have done to stop either goal.
Vitinho 5 - had the freedom of the right hand side and didn't get in behind Schlupp or Mitchell once.
Beyer 5 - shocking mistake for the goal. Just put the damn ball into touch.
O ' Shea 6 - thought he had his best game for us, particularly in the 1st half. One or two loose passes but he's not a ball playing CB so can forgive these as it's VK's fault he's being made to play this way.
Taylor 7 - the only one who seemed to play with any urgency in the final third!
Gudmundsson 6 - some tidy touches but as with Vitinho, he had all the space in the world on the right hand side and we did nothing with it.
Berge 6 - solid and an improvement on Cullen in the defensive role.
Brownhill 6 - worked hard and kept it moving.
Amdouni 6 - good moments here and there, but part of a front three who wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now.
Rodríguez 4 - thanks for the memories Jay. His time is up at this level.
Koleosho 7 - our only real threat. The big issue is he currently has very little product.

Odobert 5
Redmond 5

VK needs to assess this performance closely as there were positives. I actually don't think we could have played any better but we have to start playing percentages at the back. Palace were very average but they did the basics well. Get the ball in row Z and reset if needed. The insistence that we keep the ball in play at all costs is causing us to give away Sunday league standard goals every week. The shape of the team felt better though and had Foster been fit we may have got something from the game as Jay was a passenger.

From tv
Trafford 6 one bad punch and some very average distribution, nothing else to do.
Vitihno 6 still say he is not a defender, Schlupp simply ran past for their first goal.
O'Shea 4 struggled to pass to a Claret shirt.
Beyer 6 one off for mistake but otherwise good to have him back
Taylor 7 steady away in defence
JBG 7 strange how he gets a start before all our marquee signings. Is it because he can pass to Burnley players and get somr decent centres in? He should have scored though
Berge 7* playing well until he got injured, when he should have been subbed.
Koloeosho 7 pleased to see he didn't just have a ten minute purple patch then disappear.
Adoumi 6 some lovely touches but flatters to deceive. We really should have signed Tella.
Jayrod 5 knowing that Barnes and Weghurst were leaving we really should have strengthened at the striker position.
Allround it was a better performance with some glimpses of last season's playing style. Having said thay Palace were very ordinary, but we still managed to commit footballing suicide.
