Burnley Ladies
Won 9-1 in the 2nd round of the women's FA Cup this afternoon against Alnwick Town at Clitheroe FC.
Would be nice to see this site offer them the same coverage and support as the u21s and youth teams get. (Full disclosure: I haven't seen any of the 3 teams at a 'home' game for over 40 years. I did see Burnley ladies win at Boldmere St Michael (Sutton Coldfield) last season and I saw our u23s lose at Walsall a few seasons ago, bit otherwise haven't seen them personally.)

Re: Burnley Ladies
Are you volunteering?
The reason we have such excellent coverage of the mens and youths is because someone (or several someones, but one in particular) puts in a huge amount of time and effort to make it so. I dare say if someone wants to do the equivalent for the women, their offer will be gratefully considered.

I enjoy watching them, good side, but most folk I know have zero interest, it’s just the way it is, I respect thatbfcmik wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:21 pmWon 9-1 in the 2nd round of the women's FA Cup this afternoon against Alnwick Town at Clitheroe FC.

Re: Burnley Ladies
Listened to the podcast with Rebecca Sawiuk the other day, she seems very switched on and the ladies are doing a terrific job. Shame they don't play in Burnley though (for reasons she outlined) but I'm just not travelling to Leyland to watch their home games.

Re: Burnley Ladies
Spoke to someone who was at the game. Alnwick Town are tier 6, Burnley tier 3, Alnwick took the lead Burnley got it back to 2-1 and then fitness took over, leaving Burnley to blast them off. Very cold he said

Genuinely think I might and go and watch a game.
It would be nice to see a few wins in a Burnley shirt like.

I’d honestly recommend it, I think you’d be surprised at how good some of them are.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 6:51 pmGenuinely think I might and go and watch a game.

So, aside from one game watching the women play at Sutton Coldfiield (full disclosure, I’ve seen them even fewer times than you) you think it would be nice for someone else from this site to dedicate their time in order for this site to “offer them the same coverage and support as the u21s and youth teams get”.
It probably would be nice if this site had a dedicated section for the women’s team, for those with an interest. Are you volunteering or do you simply expect someone else to meet a need that you deem to be required?
All sounds rather hypocritical if you can only make one game yourself, in all those years.

Re: Burnley Ladies
Drawn away to Coundon Court in the next round.
In local rivalry ties we have Southampton v Portsmouth and Darwen v Blackburn.
