Re: Significant Snowfall
Google weather also shows a 50% chance of snow until 10am and then 3pm onwards continuing throughout the day/evening.
I'll prepare for that one!

Re: Significant Snowfall
Met Office 24 hour one generally the most accurate for here (I'm not in Burnley). No snow forecast for either today.

Re: Significant Snowfall
I'm on the outskirts of Burnley, and I could have built a snowman this morning - if I hired a snow making machine.
Re: Significant Snowfall
Met Office has just issued a yellow warning for snow from 6pm.

Re: Significant Snowfall
I am at Gretna Green and it has snowed. About an inch.
I woke up to 3 inches in Stirling this morning.
That should open up a few things!

Re: Significant Snowfall
Was hoping this was a thread about the brilliant TV series Snowfall about the rise of the crack cocaine trade in LA and the CIA’s involvement in this. I’m currently halfway through the last of 6 series on the BBC iPlayer and can’t recommend it highly enough if you like quality TV crime drama such as The Wire, Breaking Bad etc. Can’t believe it’s not more highly rated and well known tbh.
Re: Significant Snowfall
Not a yellow warning though, unless those on the male incontinence thread are attending

Re: Significant Snowfall
Prediction in Burnley now moved forward to 17:00. Certainly doesn't look significant.

Re: Significant Snowfall
Just got home after a five and a half hour journey.
I usually go through the Central Lakes on the A591, but I turned round at Kendal back to the M6, which itself was very, very slow because of jack-knifed lorries.
Kendal to Grasmere was covered by 9-12 inches of snow, and the Police estimated that there were about 200 abandoned vehicles.
North of Tebay, there was no snow.
Glad to be home, but it was worth it!

Had to make my way to the sports bar here in Tenerife, struggled a bit under the slight overcast, but you'll be pleased to hear that I made it in my flip flops, shorts and T shirt . Hopefully the snow has thawed by Thursday, not looking forward to returning home. .

Tw@ is correct, it's a small town called Oberursel, about 15km north of Frankfurt in the Taunus Mountains.
