Would our ex players keep us up

Post by Westleigh » Thu Dec 07, 2023 7:50 pm

Just thinking ignoring injuries is there a team made up of ex Clarets that could keep us up?
Pope

Collins
Keane
Tarkowski
Mee

Pope

Trippier
Tarkowski
Mee
Maatsen

Cornet
Philips
Styles
McNeil

Ings
Tella

Struggling for centre mid options which shows where we have been weakest over the years.

I know you said you were struggling for options in the middle, but playing the unproven and untested Harry Styles in there seems a bit of a serious risk to me.

Yeah would've been better with with Louis Tomlinson, at least he has made an appearance on a football pitch 🤭

He'd be our Robbie Savage, opposing players would love to two foot him every week so we'd only be playing against 10 men.

As someone above said, give SD 100 million to play with, and he'd keep us up. We wouldn't be anywhere near the bottom now.

Of course we'd still be in the relegation zone regardless of manager or how the £100 million was spent, have you seen the gap these days and how much the league has grown in 12 months? NO championship team can ever compete 🤔

Last season, the three promoted clubs after 15 games had

Fulham - 19 points
Bournemouth - 16 points
Forest - 13 points

Wolves were bottom with 10 points

As stated above I was being sarcastic because some posters keep telling us to stay positive because we just can't compete and £100 million is nothing so should just accept relegation and 'come back up', for some very strange reason some posters believe the new ownership is about building a squad to bounce back but in reality any cash offers upon relegation at a profit will be accepted

If VK had Jimmy Mac, Dobo and Trevor Steven he wouldn’t play them cos they don’t fit the system.

Correct, he probably wouldn't pick Haaland, Salah or Bellingham if he was offered them either

Because if you read further up my initial team selection was before the Premier League stipulation was made clear and he said ex-Clarets which Berge clearly isn't.
