Kyle Walkers Son at Burnley
Just been listening to Talksports drive show with Goldstien and Darren Bent, they had Arron Lennon on as a guest and they phoned Kyle Walker.
He said am just pulling up at Burnley to drop me son of. Presume under 16 level ?

Maybe he’d consider joining us next year to share the commute
I wonder if Garnacho’s brother is still with us?

Good for the image of the academy if players of his calibre trust the club with his son.

Re: Kyle Walkers Son at Burnley
Yatesy-I heard the programme and picked up the same thing. I googled to see if I could learn anything about "Walkers son" but got no where. It was a particularly good couple of hours on Talksport and Aaron Lennon provided a brilliant and moving insight in to his mental issues, which thankfully is well behind him. It sounds like he was in a very serious conditionyatesybase wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 6:58 amJust been listening to Talksports drive show with Goldstien and Darren Bent, they had Arron Lennon on as a guest and they phoned Kyle Walker.

Re: Kyle Walkers Son at Burnley
You’d be right to think he was the best Burnley player: he was excellent. Kyle Walker looked not only a young talented but a player destined for the very very top level of football.

Not sure how good or bad our academy is but using this as evidence it’s good is hogwash - it might just be that the boy isn’t good enough for the top level academies.

Michael Brown, Jack Cork & Matt Lowton all have sons at our academy
Re: Kyle Walkers Son at Burnley
We seem to produce players who make a living in the lower leagues but not many if any who go to the top.

Re: Kyle Walkers Son at Burnley
Anyone else notice Goldsteins sly dig at Burnley during the conversation?
As for Kyle Walker, he’s been a very good player for a good number of years. He was a good player in the play off final too, but as for him being the best player on the pitch? Not for me - that was Carlisle, he was immense that day. A number of other clarets were good too.
Do I remember KW from the day? Yes, he was a good young player that day, with a great turn of pace, but he certainly didn’t stand out as someone who was going to be as good as he has been. Maybe that’s why I’m not a talent scout…

Alan Rogers - former Forest and Leicester City full back - also has a son who has come through the ranks at the academy and now plays for the under 21s I think.

Jack has played in the u21s but is still an u18. Start of last season we were on the touchline talking about his dad totally unaware he was stood next to us.Summerseat Claret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 2:26 pmAlan Rogers - former Forest and Leicester City full back - also has a son who has come through the ranks at the academy and now plays for the under 21s I think.

I believe his oldest son is an U10 but his second son is an U8 and is training with a few clubs so I'd guess he's the one training with Burnley also.yatesybase wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 6:58 amJust been listening to Talksports drive show with Goldstien and Darren Bent, they had Arron Lennon on as a guest and they phoned Kyle Walker.

Re: Kyle Walkers Son at Burnley
He’d have been pulling up at Gawthorpe if dropping his son at training surely ? Just as well he wasn’t entertaining a couple of brasses when they called ala Covid days .
