Nvidia Shield
Nvidia Shield
Hi. I have just bought the above media device & I have installed all the usual apps bar the channel 4 app, anyone got any idea how I can install that app? I got bbc iplayer, itv, channel 5, but I can't find channel 4, is there anyway to sideload it? Any help would be much appreciated. utc

Re: Nvidia Shield
The Channel 4 app is in the Google play store, can you install it from there?
Re: Nvidia Shield
You should just need to search for 4OD and it'll turn up. Theres an official app so shouldn't be too difficult
Re: Nvidia Shield
For some reason it is not in the Google play store on the shield? Yet it is in there on my Samsung phone play store! Very odd.

Re: Nvidia Shield
You have to side load it using an APK. There's a few forums
that tackle the issue and an APK seems to be the answer - not
without it's potential dangers though.
I have a similar problem with NOWTV and a Chromebook I've bought.
Have enquired and they're " working on it"

Re: Nvidia Shield
I've got a fairly strong feeling it's not available for the Shield for some strange reason.
You can either side load it, although that may not be 100% successful, or try accessing it through a browser.
For side loading you can use something like this
https://mashtips.com/send-apk-from-phone-to-android-tv/
The easiest option though is just to play it on your phone and cast it to your shield.

Re: Nvidia Shield

Re: Nvidia Shield
I tried the browser solution too only to be directed to the playstore
and then to be told that the App wasn't compatible with Chrome o/s.
Shambles really.

You need to get your browser to identify as a desktop browser rather than mobile one.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 10:09 amI tried the browser solution too only to be directed to the playstore

Re: Nvidia Shield
Cheers Aggi, I'll give that a try.

Being an old fart I thought this was going to be a new defensive tactic in the mode of low block, inverted full backs, false number nine, high press transition etc.
I should really ask the kids.
