Good read, thanks.
'Different from' though, surely - 'Different than' is way too American for me.

Re: REPORT: Craven Cottage Christmas Cracker
Good report but after watching several replays of our second goal I thought Leno should have done much better.

Chalk and cheese to the Everton report, .
Re: REPORT: Craven Cottage Christmas Cracker
As a colourblind person I was ok with the kit selection. I do like to see us in the home kit where possible though but I think the dark coloured socks this season put pay to that yesterday.

He'd no chance.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 8:52 pmHe had absolutely no chance given the speed and movement of the ball. No chance whatsoever.
Also think he saw it late, when l watched a reply.

Think the Berge shot also goes through a Fulham player’s legs, making it harder to judge.
Great report and a very enjoyable day. Cheers, CT

Good , calm and happy read this week.
Last week I posted that I was disappointed with the Everton result when I was in fact angry at our lack of fight.
This week, probably because Foster , we had some belief.

Re: REPORT: Craven Cottage Christmas Cracker
Missed the game yesterday, but so pleased to read something positive about the team, feels like it’s been a while, when in reality we have had the Sheff Utd and Brighton results this month.
Need our home form to match our away form now.
Cheers Tony for the report, have a good Christmas.

And great for those who travelled so close to Christmas despite the way things have been going………..
Sets up Boxing Day under the lights nicely.

Being 2 rows in front of you Tony, as soon as Odobert hit that shot I shouted yes. Behind it all the way and it was destined for the corner the minute he struck it. Hope your confidence has been restored a little!

That’s the big thing and to be actually trying to get a second goal rather than defending a single goal advantage is massiveClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 11:53 pmNot surprising really but once in front yesterday we never looked as though we wouldn't win

Re: REPORT: Craven Cottage Christmas Cracker
Thanks for that, it was something I questioned during the game to be honest, I could not believe we had that kit on at Fulham. Nothing to stop us changing the socks with the home kit.
Re: REPORT: Craven Cottage Christmas Cracker
As I shall be putting in my own report, the biggest factor in that win was being level at half time

I wrote: "We went in level at 0-0 and there is no doubt that we could probably count ourselves fortunate. But, it meant we were still very much in the game as we came out for the second half."
Very much so, we needed to get in level and then, of course, got that immediate lift at the start of the second half.

One of my pet hates is those who speak about being different to rather than fromdougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2023 6:56 pmGood read, thanks.

Hear it all the time even on BBC of all places.
No doubt some graduate in English will give me examples of where different to is appropriate
But for me things, people, situations etc. are similar to but different from.
Another is "none are." As none is short for not one -it has to be "none is"
Happy Xmas to one and all on this MB

We aren't at it every game. But we are in it more often than not.
And utilised the space offered by the opposition chasing a goal really well yesterday. Really positive all in all. Shame Liverpool comes next

Very good report. Just for the record we played in yellow in 82/83 when we lost 1-3. Footage from the very forgetable match was featured in an episode of Yes Minister.
