Entitled fans

Post by Woodleyclaret » Sat Jan 20, 2024 8:29 am

Sunderland fans want Beale sacked after 7 games
They assumed despite only just getting back to the Championship that Beale would lead them to promotion. They are still an average side and should be happy to build up a squad slowly.

I think we need to be looking at our own fans this season before calling others out for being entitled IMO

I stand to be corrected but didn’t they really like Mowbray?

Tbf the vast majority were happy with what Mowbray was doing, that's the main issue.

They were daft getting rid of Mowbray. He was doing a good job and they were, mostly, good to watch. A young team will have ups and downs and the players were improving under him.

Nothing entitled about being a bit cheesed off with 1 home win in 11

But if it wasn't for VAR we'd be getting better 😂

The problem is with you and your gang of s*** talkers, you talk that much s*** that you inevitably trip yourselves up as you forget what side of the agenda you should be on. In this case here you are a week or two ago upset about how we are behind where we are cause of VAR:

Should have had a penalty against United, Villa no penalty plus they should have had a red card earlier, Forest away should have stood.
That's that's minimum 5 points lost through VAR maybe more

Sunderland fans didn't want Beale - Sunderland fans didn't want Mowbray sacked - they haven't just got back into the Championship either, they were there last year.

Mowbray played a really good style of attacking football, Beale very definitely doesn't.

Talking of entitled fans, I think that I heard yesterday that Everton fans want to be considered in the decision process for their appeal...... On that basis, shouldn't opposing teams fans also have the opportunity to argue for the prosecution?

5 points better off doesn't mean we'd be much better, still be bottom three.
I wasn't upset about VAR I was pointing out some decisions that went against us, that doesn't change our performances though does it.
I'm quite clearly on the side of we should be doing much better, no agenda happy clapper.

Quite easy really he's twisted a quote about VAR for his own agenda to say I was upset when it's merely pointing out a few facts.
Those extra 5 points wouldn't suddenly make our season successful would it.

I have no idea how Beale gets such a job with any club. Short on pedigree and personality to me.

Owners eh!

The entitled fans were the ones assuming we'd be comfortably mid table. Some of those might be angry now and have zero room to talk, but a lot have strangely pivoted to acting like this season's performance is expected.

I always expected a relegation fight and took the view that I'd take crap football and 17th place as a platform to continue to build on. As it happens we've had occasionally pretty but largely toothless football and are putting up less fight than the team that came through the playoffs and spent nothing. It's entitled to expect an easy ride in the Prem, it's entitled to EXPECT survival as a promoted team unless you get some billionaire suddenly plug 200m into your team. It's not entitled to think "we almost broke the Championship points record last year and spent circa 80m in the summer, we really ought to be putting up a much better fight for survival than this and especially than Luton going off last year and the summer window".

We've had some **** refereeing decisions, Forest and Villa most notably, which would have put us in a better (if still poor) position but even without that we've not looked as up for it as I'd hoped. We've ALWAYS had bad refereeing decisions at this level, until there's massive reform in the selection, training, accountability and paying of referees we have to find a way to get results despite that. We managed it under Dyche and even set the league disciplinary record, referees (or VAR, for the people who seem to think it's the technology rather than the referee pool that's the issue) are a part of our struggles but not what's been deciding our season so far.

The season we were relegated we went to Brighton and won 3-0. Brighton fans, after the game, were saying we shouldn't even be in the division.

They're pretty high up in my entitlement table.

I don't mind Sunderland fans, they seem a decent bunch, gor me the ultimate entitled fans see the bstards, harping on again about getting another benefactor to get them back to where they belong.

Add in Palace fans with their banner today.

At least Sunderland can point to having 40k fans through the door in the second tier.

Back to Brighton - I did remind those fans of when I was stood on the 'terrace' of a travesty of a football ground, chucking cash into a bucket to help them survive.
