2 goals and one assist in about 65 minutes. Thats almost on par with Amdouini for the entire season

Finished 2-2. New lads were the difference, especially Fofana. That feels much better.

Finally showed some grit and fight.

As Jim Bowen used to say - look at what you could have won
Nice one Vinny. We could have got 3 crucial points today.

VK is shooting himself with his loyalty to certain players, and his dislike for others. My observation is that he is working alongside YES men who do not challenge his starting 11

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
I felt we needed a win before kickoff.
After that first half, I'm bizarrely okay with a point, better than 0. All three new guys impressed me, all have to start next game.
Thank God we've finally shown some fight and got a point from a losing position.

Bit of fight and desire at least last 15-20 mins, personally that’s all I ask for.

For all my criticism of VK this season he finally made some really good decisions with the subs today.
Re: Clarets vs Fulham
Fofana showed more bo!!ocks in about twenty minutes than most of them have all season.

Utterly undeserved point but maybe makes up for 1 of the 2 we were robbed v Luton

Well Kompany's subs paid off for once, it should be Amdounis last start for us for a while mind you because we looked a lot better when we weren't having to carry him ( like we do most games )

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
Let's not forget though, being thumped more or less every week is going to affect a young player's mindset. I feel it's unfair to say they don't care, they're probably mentally exhausted. Hopefully, all three loanees will start the next game as tough as it will be.
If there's mistakes, they are squarely at the feet of the person making the decisions, but even he is still learning. I'm frustrated, as are most of us, but we need to keep behind the lads.

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
It was getting toxic at Turf Moor today. We were absolute shite until we brought Fofana on. Ramsey and Amdouni should not start for a long while - anonymous, invisible, lethargic.
Esteve, Assignon and Fofana all decent.
Relegated as far as I’m concerned without a shadow of a doubt after this very abject first 70 or so minutes. Had to win and a pathetic line up where we carried two players ensured we didn’t.

He got lucky? Really? Ok then so by your logic this season he has just been unlucky. next season is a clean slateShaggy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:56 pmIt’s beginning to look more and more like he got lucky with a formula which just worked. He’s not good enough the proof is in the pudding. We have been completely embarrassing this season and it’s all self inflicted.
There are no signs that Kompany is even trying to solve our problems.

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
All I wanted to see was some fight and character, especially when we are behind, and the new lads certainly helped bring that out. There are a lot of starters who are just going through the motions and you could see the change when they were taken off. I think there were promising signs there and really hoping we can build on that.
Re: Clarets vs Fulham
Kompany took us there, he’s earned a shot at trying it again. Same as Dyche did.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 3:56 pmKompany doesn’t deserve anything

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
We tried Berge in a deeper role earlier in the season and it didn't work.
On paper him stepping out of the defence to dictate things is a good idea, however the lads in front of him have to get a grip on the game otherwise he'll play as a centre half all match.
A midfield four of Odobert, Brownhill, Ramsey and Amdouni hasn't got a tackle between them, it's a plan destined to fail, why take your only physical player out of the centre of the park is baffling at best.
I'd certainly look at putting Brownhill in the number ten role (like last season) with Fofana, and Odobert either side of Foster. In central midfield would be Berge alongside either Cullen or Massengo. We are too easily overwhelmed in the centre of the park.

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
He's certainly not perfect. He could do with realising how strong he should be at his height.
I was in the Muric camp from pre-season until (probably) October. I don't think he's as bad as his UTC BHE press. He's certainly not one of our biggest problems.

I think Amdouni and Ramsey are excellent footballers, and I've been trying to work out how to get them in our starting XI all season. But after today, I must reluctantly concede that they are passengers at the moment

It was a bit cringey with the celebrations in the stands at the end and the announcer shrieking ‘let’s hear it for BURNLEY!!!” after we scraped one of the luckiest draws in a game we simply had to win.

What was worrying was how easy Fulham’s 3rd choice striker found it to run behind our defence, especially Ekdal and Vitinho

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
Delighted with a point in the end, and the new boys showed a lot of promise, but that performance, against a rank Fulham side, was just awful.
Miles away from where we need to be, and that lack of leadership in key moments, and key areas of the pitch will haunt us all season.

Re: Clarets vs Fulham
Awful performance overall but at least we showed something resembling fight to somehow get a draw. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the next transfer window will be vital if we are to regain promotion again next season which is far from certain as things stand.
