Ramsey
Re: Ramsey
I actually think Ramsey is a really bright prospect and has started brilliantly for Burnley
Re: Ramsey
You could say the same about Amdouni. Great to see what happens when we dont have an empty shirt in his position
Re: Ramsey
Both should be dropped, absolutely shocking today they were.

Ramsey I do have hopes for the future tbh
Amdouni? Be at a team like Empoli or Trabzonspor I feel. Just not a PL player - strange signing.

Re: Ramsey
I think you are right. I never understood the clamour for him in pre-season. I think the Blades got the better of the 2 'Boro loanees.
He's just too weak and it matters when we already had quite a weak and young side on the pitch.
Having said that, I think he will become a very good player if handled correctly. He clearly has wonderful technique and a nice touch. Has a good engine and a good attitude.
Somebody said it on the match thread (BelginanClaret?) and I agree: he is the player that needed another year loanded to the championship.

Re: Ramsey
Discuss.
Ramsey is a great footballer who is struggling because he's joined a team who are not playing well. Very few players are.
People who are scape goating him don't know what they're talking about.

Re: Ramsey
Ramsey offered absolutely nothing today and how he got a start is baffling . He needs to toughen up for me and work harder. I haven’t seen anything from him yet.
Amdouni has got the ability but he needs to be coached into making better decisions and again showing more desire and work rate . He could be very good if he applied himself correctly

I think he and Tresor have been sh!te in every game so far this season. It's signings like this is the reason we are where we are. I hope they both prove me wrong, but I am far from convinced

He’s nowhere near good enough (yet, if ever?) and has made more than his fair shares of mistakes this season.
I thought his effort was poor too for the most part. With him and Amdouni on the pitch it was like playing with nine men.

Re: Ramsey
Amdouni is the worse signing. He came with an International and European games scoring and assists background. He is awful. He hides behind defenders rather than getting in space and when he does receive the ball he soon gets hustled off it.
Ramsey is a young guy that might end up a good signing but isn’t ready yet.

How is this guy thought of more highly than Benson and Zaroury?? It's truly mind boggling

I think the team as a whole will struggle in the championship, not enough fight, nous or will to win, those of us who think we'll walk the league next year are in for a shock in my opinion, for a start the 2 teams that come down with us will be better equipped for that league.Terry Cochrane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 5:30 pmNot many of our squad are. £44m spent on Aaron Ramsey, Zeki Amdouni and Mike Tresor, if Transfermarkt and the rumoured £14m permanent fee for Tresor which we are obligated to pay is to be believed.

Re: Ramsey
Throw Traff in (will eventually be justified, just not what we needed this year imo) and that's £60 million on 4 players that have done little to nothing to improve our starting XI - which is scandalous tbh.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 6:56 pm£44m spent on Aaron Ramsey, Zeki Amdouni and Mike Tresor, if Transfermarkt and the rumoured £14m permanent fee for Tresor which we are obligated to pay is to be believed.

In the Top 50 keepers in the UK. He’s the worst starting keeper in the premier league this season.

Re: Ramsey
Kompany to blame for Ramsey, Ramsey had a great 70 minutes at home to united playing as the 8/10 then the game after he gets stuck out on the left away to Newcastle, makes a mistake and he’s not been the same since.
He has come on a handful of times, each time being a different position, I know kompany likes players who can play multiple positions but he needs to give the lad a chance to get some consistency in a position

Re: Ramsey
I wish I knew what his role was meant to be today. With Berge basically out of the midfield playing central defender, was he suppose to be a part of a plan to bring the full backs into attacking positions? If he was it failed while he was on the field.
All he did was run around closing their players down or passing short balls to a team mate. We already had Brownhill doing that.
That left only Odebert and Foster to attack their defence with Amdouni totally unable to get into the game.

Really poor today, great at home to United. He’s clearly a talented player, his performances in the league below show that, the hope is obviously he can grow and develop into a PL footballer but he’s just not there yet.

It’s not that we don’t have talented , young quick technically gifted players , it’s that they’re not generally anywhere near the level required in the Prem . They’re by en large upper end “small european league” players who will all make a very nice living , while never troubling the main stage .

Re: Ramsey
Ramsey hasn’t played well today and had struggled generally so far, but some of the comments I heard about him today were a tad disappointing.
I heard at least two people describe him as the “worst signing in years” or words to that effect.
To some extent i think he’s another victim of the imbalance of our transfer policy. Because most of our players are young, they aren’t unique and there’s no patience for them (he’s only just turned 21). He’s also probably a player that could do with a bit more experience and solidity around him. He’s had little of either when he’s playing. I suspect you could say the same about one or two others.

I think if VK gets all his receipts together he’s got a good chance of doing a charge back on this purchase and hopefully Trafford’s.

I know how he feels - He's been worrying me ever since the Chelsea home game - comes on, loses the ball which leads to them scoring and then wanders around in the centre circle watching the ball being passed around him.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:12 pmWhen he was taken off guy behind said 'I seriously didn't know he was on the pitch'.
Games just seem to pass him by and he little or no impact.

Not saying he hasn’t, but he’s played the equivalent of just over 4 games for us in the league - 386 mins - and he’s 21.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:21 pmWe paid in our world a lot of money and bar the United game he’s been absolute dogs&it.
The fee isn’t his fault, he’s still very young and I don’t think he’s been given the best chance to succeed.

Re: Ramsey
I feel a bit aorry for him, hes being managed really poorly just been shoved in different positions in different systems. He diesnt have the experience to deal with it and hes physically very very weak.
Im fairly sure Boro would have happily had him back on loan for the rest of the season and i think that would have been the best thing for all parties. It may be one we have to cut our losses on at some point.

Re: Ramsey
In fairness to this young footballer we need to take him out the firing line, otherwise his confidence will be shot. Give him a few games in the U-23's then bring him back into the squad for selective games
Re: Ramsey
I’d be happy not to see Ramsey, Tresor and Amdouni in a Burnley shirt again this season. There’s a player in Amdouni but he’s not what we need right now. The first two have been rank bad awful. They’d be extremely disappointing if they were free transfers. They weren’t.
