Re: Today’s thread - Liverpool v Burnley
Miracles will never cease we've scored from a corner. Take 1-1 at halftime anyday against Liverpool.
Classic Trafford performance really. Makes a shocking flap to gift a goal, a fantastic save to deny one, few other flaps and poor passing all round. You know what you get at this point.
Esteve, Odobert and O'Shea looking good. First five minutes Amdouni looked decent then waned. Fofana quiet so far. Right side weaker than left but not too bad. Not been a huge Delcroix fan but he's been solid today. Respectable, even if we'd started to get put on the back foot for about 12 minutes prior to the goal and Liverpool look off-pace. Will always take this scoreline at Anfield, happy with that.

Re: Today’s thread - Liverpool v Burnley
Scrap zonal marking and just go man for man it ain't rocket science, free header from smallest player on pitch totally unchallenged

We hear this every week’Kept us in the game”the outfield players must be so ****** off watching him mess up game after game.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 3:47 pmCan we now stop the Trafford bitching. We all know hes at fault, but we have had two pages telling us, plus he kept us in the game with a great save. I would rather learn about the game progreso

It was completely Trafford’s fault - 1st one this season that was entirely down to him

Re: Today’s thread - Liverpool v Burnley
Would be mental to swap Ramsey for Benson when we're 1-1 at half time. Ramsey is doing a massive amout of work and bringing Benson on now could put more pressure on our defence than it would theirs.
Definite change if we go behind or get to 70 mins level but not now

Why? It goes both ways, he watches our players often being 2nd best in most positions.
I imagine that our players are very supportive of each other.

Re: Today’s thread - Liverpool v Burnley
Having seen that replay for their first the worrying bit is not Traffords physicality but that he totally misjudged the cross and was under the ball. Even if noone was in his way, he's not catching that.
His ability on crosses is getting progressively worse in the past two months.
Not the only player whos cock up has cost us a goal this season and still doesn't deserve some of the hatred he's getting on here mind.

Can't see any changes being made yet.
Re: Today’s thread - Liverpool v Burnley
Prob our best half of the season. Should be 2 up at ht but a great save from Amdouni and the clown show from Trafford and it’s 1-1. Certainly been the better team Assignon and Esteve look class acts. We could go on and win this but Klopp will no doubt change things and we will lose by 2 or 3. Delcroix has also been very good

Really good half and deservedly level. No doubt that Trafford was at fault for the goal but other than that we’ve looked solid and capable of causing them problems.

What a difference it makes, having Berge being able to pick up the ball in midfield and drive forward with it.

Re: Today’s thread - Liverpool v Burnley
Mainly but not entirely. Not when the smallest guy on the pitch nods in a header, our zonal marking has given me the jitters time and again this season. I’d like to see VK pushed on it in his press conference. It’s fine if you have powerful headers, we don’t, they struggle to get high off the ground from a standing start.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 3:57 pmIt was completely Trafford’s fault - 1st one this season that was entirely down to him

The knives are out far too easily for players in the modern game. Confidence is a massive ingredient. We've been denied, in my eyes at least 5 points this season with curious VAR decisions. Results in those game change mentality. Stop looking for scapegoats. Get behind the lads.

Its not Trafford's fault. If he is picked he will do his best, but VK seems to ignore any errors he makes and keeps him in the firing line.

BBC: 'A sublime header from O'Shea'
Liverpool 1-1 Burnley
Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score
What a sublime header from Dara O'Shea. The goal comes from a corner, he is about 12-13 yards out, standing start, and he has to get the power with his neck to try and hit that top corner with the header.
Caoimhin Kelleher is scrambling across his goal but the ball goes right into the top corner and has no chance of saving it.

We’ve had three posts calling Trafford names for goodness sake. Criticism is fine but so called fans name calling is best kept on the playground, not from middle aged men.
