Re: Today’s thread
hmmm.. surprised troussard was still on this fee when he scored that goal... probably got confused with all the flopping he's done.
Re: Today’s thread
Is it the Arsenal fans or Burnley fans singing “you’re going down?”
Re: Today’s thread
I refuse to believe we would be any worse with anyone else in charge.
We will have the biggest budget in the champ next season and many many managers would have us up the right end.
I’m beyond being convinced to continue this farce tbh.

Re: Today’s thread
I said I'd support VK if we went down, as long as I could see some positive progress in our performances. I'm not seeing any improvement at all so for now he's lost my support.

Credit to the fans who are still enduring this in the rain.

Re: Today’s thread
Afraid it's an out from me. Week after week we are seeing inept performances, dodgy tactics, no identity, players half arsed. Absolutely no guarantee these dreadful displays won't continue into next season. I cannot actually believe how much of a disaster this season has been.
Re: Today’s thread
VK fault Ramsey got injured because he shouldn’t have been on the pitch. Ramsey was dreadful again today
VK out. Muric, Benson, Ramsey, Taylor (first 8 games)
Complete mismanagen this year. What a joke

Going backwards I am afraid. There is not one thing I have seen this season which would convince me that this man can manage at Premier League level. Sadly we are stuck with him now in what looks like it is going to be a mutually destructive embrace

Brownhill has lost the plot
Re: Today’s thread
If JBL comes on b4 Benson… I am turning my Canadian tv off
Re: Today’s thread
When your players have predominantly been signed on the strength of an A4 sheet of stats and there's a realisation that this team would struggle even against Forest and Palace, can't beat Luton and has done difficulty in scoring a goal, I can understand how, deep into the second half of the season, even 'commitment' fizzles out.Westleigh wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 3:53 pmAway,so having to watch it on tv, the commentators saying just what a lot of the fans feel ,one of them asked the other what Burnley needed to be doing to get into the game ,he said ‘Well perhaps start by showing a bit more commitment’ that’s basically saying that we should start ******* trying.pathetic.
Bournemouth 2-1 up at Newcastle. We wouldn't have a hope of scoring at St James Park.

Dreadful last 5-10 games. Worst starter in the EPL
Re: Today’s thread
What is the plot ?
Re: Today’s thread
As a pretty well certain to be relegated team ,& thinking about other seasons we’ve gone down this must be the worst team ever compared to the rest of the league.
Re: Today’s thread
Poorer than the Coyle/Laws side and that is saying something - especially given how many millions we have squandered. Maximum effort is the bare minimum and you do wonder how many of our players can hand on heart say they have given their all this season.

Time for a ban me thinks. You don’t offer anything of worth to this messageboard with your twitter-esque toxicity and this messageboard is dragged down because of it.

Re: Today’s thread
If Kompany had any decency he would walk. His fingerprints are all over this utter shambles of a season. Yes he did very well at a lower level last season, with a comparatively large budget, but this season is clear proof that he is miles behind the modern game at the highest level.
Re: Today’s thread
What does the guy in blue do at the back for Arsenal?
Re: Today’s thread
Just be given a chance to show what he can do
The rest of them have been given plenty of chances to show their skills - and they don't seem to be adding up to much

Re: Today’s thread
But this is it.
When we're **** it's "What difference would he make"
When we're not it's "He's not what we need".
The people who've decided he's right to be frozen out, will always decide it's right to leave him out. He could get on at 89 mins and they'd go "See he didn't do anything".
What the hell is there to lose by giving him 30 minutes to just SEE if he can replicate what he did, multiple times, last season, when we've repeatedly seen that other players AREN'T contributing from the bench? What is there to lose by giving him a try? He comes on at 2-0, he might conjure magic to get us back in it. He might not, might be a passenger, but as it is, we've gone 0-5 without him anyway so the idea that he's too criminally lightweight doesn't wash. Most of our team are lightweight.
There is nothing to lose by trying him. ACTUALLY trying him, not 5-10 minutes at 0-5 so people can go "ha ha he didn't win us the game, he's crap".
It's stubbornness that's beginning to look genuinely spiteful.

Re: Today’s thread
Vincent Kompany isn’t the first world class player to find managing at the top level beyond his capabilities at the highest level and I’m sure he won’t be the last.
Unfortunately, Alan Pace bought into all the hype so Burnley are stuck with him for the foreseeable.

I seem to say this every week , but how do you expect to complete against premier teams with Ramsey and Amdouni in your midfield ? We have all these background staff/ coaches , what the hell do they do apart from look at laptops.
