Carlton Morris £1.3m; Ogbene free transfer; Adebayo (I suspect peanuts). Would you not love them in our team

Parallels with Sean quite a bit; very similar playing profiles, similar ages/results when prematurely potted by Watford... Both went on to win promotion with their next club.

I enjoy watching games involving Man Utd in 2024 usually plenty of goals and attacking football. Luton reacting brilliantly making it end to end football.
More goals in 2nd half hopefully.

Lokonga also looks good.....Morris though is a proper handful....(Barnes)
Shout out to David Coote for being the most feckless Ref ever.........every game he refs descends into chaos.

Re: Today's Football
that's the problem with modern day football and why so many people are turned off by it. It's a nothing challenge, it's just a simple foul and yet everyone is screaming for a red card !
It's a physical sport and I genuinely don't know anyone who doesn't like to see players challenging and battling - it's been the number criticism of our performance yesterday.

Wow £250k for Morris !!. I reckon we could have bought him from Alan Pace's petty cash

HI WARKSCLARET
Adebayo was £250k
Morris cost around £1.3 million from Rotherham (I believe)

Re: Today's Football
Got to feel for Luton having watched the Casemiro one at half time after just turning it on.
The Nottingham ref Coote didn’t do them any favours, just like the ref from Luton didn’t help Sheff Utd earlier with a couple of odd decisions (not the red card).
Very naive to think these things don’t subconsciously make a big difference. I’m 100% certain Luton will drop, heroically.

Re: Today's Football
yep, that's the problem with it. Soft as ****. His first yellow just isn't a yellow, Luton player dives. He goes through the back of Morris and doesn't get booked and that was a clear booking. Refs just make it up as they go along but every foul doesn't warrant a booking.

Impressed by the midfield combination of Barkley and Lokonga. Is Lokonga on loan or have they bought him?

Re: Today's Football
My mistake but the point stands, he is a Luton fan, much ridiculed for giving that “ghost goal” against their rivals Watford in the past. The number of mistakes he has made this season against Luton’s relegation rivals is very high, not least us, and I’m certain subconscious bias plays a part (as does Chris Wilder, who has mentioned it more than once).
The PGMOL should factor this into appointments, but don’t, which just adds to the uphill battle us small clubs face.
Re: Today's Football
He's already a really good player and at only 19 will only get even better

Re: Today's Football
We were linked with him all last summer and then he went to Luton on loan. He’d played for Kompany at Anderlecht.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 5:58 pmImpressed by the midfield combination of Barkley and Lokonga. Is Lokonga on loan or have they bought him?

Well, the one he belted in at Everton will probably turn out to be GOTS.
So he can sure hit a ball.

Luton have added some real quality, and are a better side than they were last year. They have maintained their spine, and with that the identity of the team.

How many more chances are Utd going to squander? With Luton’s luck they’ll get a 96 min equaliser!!

Re: Today's Football
The first yellow is a stone wall booking don't be fooled by him trying to pull his leg back, he knows exactly what he's doing.
The second yellow is softish but not by today's standards, he's very lucky to be on at half time.
