Post match presser anyone?
Anyone seen anything?
Re: Post match presser anyone?
30 seconds of his interview just flashed up on Sky Sports.
He says there is belief within the group that we can survive.

To be fair he has to say this really, he's not going to come out and say yes we're awful and down already

I'd rather he just come out and say we are planning for next season. I'm all for giving people the opportunity to rectify mistakes but his bullshit is wearing thin

He said on radio Lancs he’s told the players they don’t need many people to believe in them.
Re: Post match presser anyone?
I wouldn't - if he said that we're already down and now planning for next season, he would rightly get castigated.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:23 pmI'd rather he just come out and say we are planning for next season. VK - "The probabilities are against us"
Re: Post match presser anyone?
He's pretty much said before the 1st game were already down with the way his spoke no wonder the players have had no belief.
He needs to get a grip and stop being sto stubborn, never mind accepting relegation, accept the money train isn't coming this summer because they've bought garbage and put the team and club first

Re: Post match presser anyone?
Same old guff. He’s a clever bloke and last season was brilliant but he’s making a hash of it now. He needs to be asked about Muric, Zaroury, Benson etc. That’s an interview I’d be interested in.

If you are expecting him to say “yeah, we’re down aren’t we” in a post match interview I fear the delusion is not all Vincent’s.Venkys4eva wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:22 pmNot accepted relegation? I think hes totally deluded now

Re: Post match presser anyone?
Seems like he doesn't think some of them need him to believe in him with how he's cast off a few.helmclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:25 pmHe said on radio Lancs he’s told the players they don’t need many people to believe in them.
I'm getting worried by him I can't deny it. Two weeks ago I was VK in. Half time vs Arsenal I was VK in. The sheer lack of anything approaching even a desire to succeed from him or the players, and the amount of flat out untruths he's saying ("the fire in bellies is there, everyone's had a chance to prove themselves, the basics are there") has me seriously concerned about the longer term trajectory with him. That lack of alignment with reality, or lack of vision, isn't good.
I've never called for a manager's head. Even Laws. But I've never seen a continuous capitulation like this from us either.

Re: Post match presser anyone?
He said something about there’s 250 million footballers in the world and the current squad have made it as premier league players ok their own, so they don’t need people to believe in them.
Feels a bit Steve Cotterill that to me.

Re: Post match presser anyone?
They're in the Premier League but they're not Premier League players. Utter w@ank all over the park. There's only Foster and Koleosho who legitimately look the part. Odobert has a good career in front of him, and I like Beyer a lot, but as for the rest I don't see PL teams coming in for them.

I dont think Foster looks the part to be honest.
I can't imagine a host of Premier League clubs looking to sign him in the summer

Re: Post match presser anyone?
decent enough interview. he acknowledges there's work to do, and he mentioned some poor officiating.
He also said he wants to fight to improve things on the pitch.

Re: Post match presser anyone?
Can a disaster get worse? If it can it's occuring right in front of us. No fight or desire in that performance right from the moment we early conceded an own goal in the first minute. Totally unacceptable performance; the sort I've seen before resulting in the manager's dismissal. How has it come to all this in just a few months?

Inept management and coaching, promising certain players they will start every week. Not sure what Kompany is doing for someone who comes across as a pretty intelligent man.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:22 pmCan a disaster get worse? Re: Post match presser anyone?
Whatever he’s saying to the players during the week isn’t working. They don’t have any belief and have lost respect with his team selection
Re: Post match presser anyone?
It’s a very Partridge-esque thing to say.helmclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:44 pmHe said something about there’s 250 million footballers in the world and the current squad have made it as premier league players ok their own, so they don’t need people to believe in them.

Re: Post match presser anyone?
Nearly any other board in the league would pot their manager after the last two performances. Team selection ridiculous , stubborn , refusing to accept that they were totally poor performances . Benson Muric Cork???? Questions on tactics . All in all very sad and incomprehensible after last year.

Re: Post match presser anyone?
On MOTD there was hardly any discussion on Burnley’s performance. At one point Micah Richards says “I’ve watched Burnley several times this season and since coming up they’ve simply failed to adapt.” Lineker interjects and says “that’s true” and continues to talk about Glasner and Crystal Palace.

Confidence is shot, the biggest reason to change the starting 11

In the old days the Longside would chant we are sick of watching sh1t. More civilised these days, we moan on here.

I’m kind of glad pundits have actually stopped talking about how bad we are now really, just quietly get the next 12 games over withkentonclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 11:38 pmOn MOTD there was hardly any discussion on Burnley’s performance.
