A good balanced report CT ,but I’m afraid after such a torrid season your struggling to find positives for more and more lacklustre performances.

O’Shea, from the stream I was watching, played the striker on for the second goal. The lines came out briefly (although no confirmation came on the screen).

I've not seen anything at all on that decision on the Sky/BBC highlights but you always have to assume an offside is correct

Your frustrations CT are echoed by an increasing number of followers, me included -sad days, but at least apart from the game it was enjoyable for many of us footballing fans. Not been to Palace since the seventies-it was a Friday night. We were already doomed to relegation, but a win for Palace ensured promotion. You can guess how it ended

I've often heard the expression "running out of superlatives", sadly it sounds like you're running out of ways to say how bad we are.

A good report apart from Trafford seeing the ball out from Taylor’s volley , he tried to head it .

The interfering by a third part though (as in this case) is a subjective call (as with Endo for Liverpool today) so he may have been off but deemed not interfering despite Trafford coming out to block his shot if he had got there. My instinct is he was offside and should have been called as such, but they don’t tell us their decision basis do they, despite the weird tannoy jingles?

Good report which does offer some balance that the majority missed on here. Until the 1st goal we did defend ok. I thought we were very slowly starting to come back into it just as the red card came out.
Its a shame because it wasnt too dissimilar to the Fulham game. The lack of confidence on the ball was very worrying though and once Brownhill went off any chances of us getting any real foothold in the game was gone.

The replay was genuinely hilarious. I think the majority of keepers just move back reading where its going to drop and just chest that down. It was probably quite a good sign as to where his head is at currently.

It felt like we were witnessing the final game of the season where we had nothing to play for; the energy levels were that low.

Just another strange aspect of this mystifying season

Horrific pass back, is the goalkeeper allowed to handle it ? Not sure how Trafford was expected to deal with such a shocking ball played to him by Taylor. Seemed to set the tone for the game. Perhaps they should work on Traffords heading in training.

Good report CT especially for us that didn’t attend. It must be disappointing having to write similar reports each week. It doesn’t change much does it. Incidentally I don’t know how you manage all this standing at grounds, your knees must be holding up well. Thanks for the report.

I've lost some weight in the last year or so and that has helped take the pressure of the knees so I can usually cope now although I did sit recently at Man City given that we'd been given seats with no one in front of us. I was absolutely knackered though after this trip.

Yes definitely drop Taylor, unfortunately we don't have a left back, how did that happen?

Can nothing be raised on fan advisory board about Trafford. This is cruelty to the lad now, putting him on the firing line every game.

Not only that, Muric's distribution is what made us so dangerous last season. For some reason VK can't see around it.

I was there too that night - there weren't many Clarets fans to witness the Palace promotion party. A very comfortable 2-0 win for them in front of what is still - and likely will remain - their record attendance.

Good grief. One has to wonder how someone can take time to reflect and come up with such a ridiculous suggestion.

With over 50% of the fans disenfranchised because of the same underperforming players being picked week in week out, I would have thought that was information the club would be interested to know. For the first time since covid I'm not going on the next home match, I've had enough.

Is Selhurst Park the hardest / most awkward ground to get to in the PL ?

By road - it is the most awkward and difficult to get to in English football. We gave up on that some years ago and now always ditch the car somewhere north of London and use the train.

That Palace promotion game gave them their record crowd! I was there and also the abysmal relegation night some years later. We were gutless and awful! Sounds familiar. At least on Saturday the Met didn’t get stuck into us like they did that night.

It was surprisingly empty on Saturday. I had the best view I've had at Palace for a long time (which I can't say I was that grateful for).

Just hit me - that Palace performance was like Rovers' at the Turf last season.

JDT trying to get Kaminski and Mola to play out whilst Tella was sniffing and pressing relentlessly.

He has to change the tactics if he persists with this current back three - Esteve and O'Shea have really good recovery pace - get the ball into the oppositions half and squeeze the opposition in our pressing. Can't carry on with this standing on the ball trying to draw a press with the same back three - it's a hiding to nothing.

I assume they must have just taken them off sale as it was too near the match. There were a lot of empty seats.

Lots of empty seats but also Burnley fans in seats that weren't available when they first went on sale.

They'd been off sale for a good few days prior to the game but then again Man City was sold out and they kept telling us it was a sold out away end and there were a hell of a lot of empty seats and only 1,200 of us in there.

Feels like there's something shifty going on with away tickets this year. We had the Burnley end at Arsenal full of tourists, sold out games at City and Palace that were nowhere near full. Are tickets disappearing to third parties? I'm sure there's good money to be made from "football tourists", particularly at the big London grounds.

If my memory is correct*, we were cheered on by a few thousand Sunderland fans hoping for a Clarets' Victory as they would have been promoted instead of Palace if we'd won.

* I've not checked back.

We were but there was no chance of us winning that game and letting Sunderland go up given the fall out between our chairman (Bob Lord) and their manager earlier in the season (Jimmy Adamson). Adamson had left for Leeds in the October and strangely they were under the management of another ex-Claret in Billy Elliott.

Still the record attendance at Selhurst Park.
