Some effort.

Chance for a few more later this summer if he wants to continue.

There really isn't enough superlatives to describe Jimmy.

Just 9 more wickets required to overtake the late great Shane Warne into the 2nd most Test match wickets of all time...

He seems to have indicated he wants to continue.
I suspect he’d want to try and finish in England in any case but who knows.

He will play this Summer and he will want to play one more (wining) Ashes series. Just look at the guy - he is in superb condition.

Just build the bloody statue.

12 more needed to reach 1000 international wickets I think

Maybe a century in the Ashes too 🤣

If the council doesn't put a statue up to honour him they are not fit to represent Burnley.

I think he's made it clear he's a Claret, he's been asked in enough interviews about it!

Season ticket holder for years at the Turf and even worked in the ticket office at one time, selling me my season ticket one year.

We all know he's a Claret but this has nothing to do with Burnley FC. This is about the greatest sportsman this town has ever produced.

Magnificent achievement - now let's hope he can get those extra few wickets to pass the brilliant Shane Warne's final total.

Brilliant Jimmy - just brilliant.

Why do we get people on here trying to have cheap digs about any Burnley individual who has made a massive lifetime success in their sport. I would guess they are probably not from the area or have a some kind of serious jealousy issue about any local who achieves such worldwide recognition.

They won’t be erecting a statue for Jimmy, although he certainly deserves one. It’s not the done thing anymore to acclaim a white Englishman who has achieved so much.
Top bloke though. I was really proud when he took that wicket earlier this morning. Well done Jimmy…… Burnley Legend.

‘White Englishman…’ what a sad, pathetic comment.

Well done Jimmy. Whether it’s a statue or something else, he needs to be properly recognised in the town.

Explain yourself, why is it a sad pathetic comment?

I don’t know what England’s schedule is but If Jimmy is in Lancashire for our next home match it would be nice if the club made him guest of honour in recognition of this achievement.

He needs to be recognized nationally not just in Burnley. Maybe he’ll receive a knighthood in Sunak’s resignation honours list.

I think Jimmy still wants his name on the international five fers board in the long room at EOT. Remarkably at his own county ground where he has an end named after him the international five fer has alluded him.

Sri Lanka this summer just might be his last chance.

When you consider the degree of impact fast bowling has, physically on the body, compared to spin bowling, and the much shorter spells that pace attacks often have, to be even talking in the same sentence as Shane Warne, it highlights just what a phenomenal achievement this is.

Especially when you consider how little rest Jimmy will get in between innings for England.
Not a lot of chance to put your feet up with the England collapses.

That and the fact that his bowling action and economy of motion is flawless.

He's a true master of his craft and is an absolute joy to watch.
