West Ham Travel

Post by Cheshireclaret » Sat Mar 09, 2024 11:05 pm

Evening all,

Does anyone have any tips on driving to West Ham (apart from 'don't do it')? Thinking train or underground but any ideas where is best to leave the car and get on public transport please?

Ta,

Cheshire

Just seen this, and maybe too late!

Not going today, but I've done it a few times before by parking in Romford (quite a few big 'pay' car parks near the station) and then two stops down the line to Stratford. Busy with 'ammers after the game but probably preferable to heading back into town on the train.

I've parked in Stratford Westfield shopping centre and wandered over to the Abbey Tap on High Street

Crossing fingers getting away will be ok as I recall big queues for the public transport

Wherever you park (or drive through) remember ULEZ zone expansion across all London boroughs. Petrol engines exempt if built after 2007. Diesel engines exempt if built after 2016. £12.50 per day charge. Plus fines if not paid promptly.
