West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO

Sadly Ings had too much time and space.

Great battling performance. No one can surely be negative today. Both teams had chances to win it.

In hindsight shouldn't of gone 5 at the back should of gone 5 in midfield
Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
Eff off Ings That really should be Kompanys last game in charge. We scored a great goal got gifted an og and he still couldn’t organize us to win Lucky to get a point at the end

Bit of a weak hand for the Ings goal if you ask me.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:01 pmJust making the observation that a 'shot stopper' would win you the points in games with erm... shot stopping.
Very lucky with the VAR offside decision and even luckier with the Berge handball.

Aye it's expected with teams near the bottom of the PL -SouthamptonClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:03 pmJoint second for saves in the PL at 106 saves. He's not had a great season, but he's stopped a lot of shots.
I should have specified - I mean more point saving saves that aren't run of the mill stuff.
Things Popey would pull out every week, that sort of thing.

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
Not sure about the equaliser. It's in the middle of the goal, not even close to the corner. He gets down well and clearly gets a good hand on it. I think Trafford will be disappointed he didn't keep it out to be honest.spt_claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 3:56 pmMate I've been pro-Muric since preseason but Trafford's not to blame for the goals today, if he saves either it's a mega save you'd back the first chance every time and second was a flash volley.

Leave it out he’s still learning, according to some. I wish I creamed off his salary when I was learning my trade.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:00 pmAnd what have we learnt since the home game, absolutely bugger all. Hang your head Kompany.

Best performance I seen from the generally poor Burnley side. Feel we would have won had we not fallen asleep just after half time. So many issues

I feel your pain.
It's much easier to just accept relegation. We'll come back much stronger as the team will mainly consist of OUR players when we have a more enjoyable next 12 months. People will then have forgotten this year just as they have this season.

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
Why on Earth did he take a winger off and put Brownhill on?
Larsen did fine and it took away any attacking intent to push West Ham back and keep them on the back foot , couple that with a **** weak challenge again that costs us a goal 39 seconds in tk the half. Dreadful second half.

Considering our position in the league we gave a good account of ourselves today. Timing of their first goal was frustrating. Not a performance to be negative about but not winning does still feel like another nail in the coffin.

I don't think he's been that bad. Won some duels, worked hard but I can't get how he didn't score that chance in the last minute...fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:09 pmIf the Brownhill sub was tactical, it didn't bloody work!

Just the sign of a rank bad side. Finds itself 2-0 up through a measure of good fortune and still can’t hold on. Even the worst teams win the odd game but we can’t even do that now

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
There’s so much to like and dislike in our performances.
It’s frustrating because it’s the same recurring defensive mistakes that we can’t cut out, which is bizarre considering the pedigree of our manager.
Really pleased to see Cullen back in, too. Should never have been dropped in the first place.
Good point in the end.

It's wrong to focus on the negatives, but you can't ignore them either. It was a good display wasted because of a lack of ********. It happens, but to us it happens again and again. It isn't coincidence, it's a lack of learning from past mistakes. If we can't learn to deal with the pressure we might as well give up and go home.burnley007 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:02 pmWe could have won that.

We've just drawn away against a team 7th in the PL and still some are trying to find fault and criticise Kompany and the team. The true fans who were there today showed what they thought of the performance at the end of the game.

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
The inspired brownhill substitution changed the game for us it reduced us to 10 men
Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
It might just be me but I really can’t see what Brownhill offers to the side . And next game wouldn’t be surprised to see him start.
Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
There was posters on this very topic clamouring for Kompany to introduce Brownhill at half time, he does, we draw 2-2 and it’s all Kompanys fault for bringing on Brownhill
He simply cannot win either way

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
Again the performance.
The result is okay in isolation, but they gave us an own goal, hit the crossbar twice, had one disallowed and missed numerous chances.
First half we did well and we had some good individual performances, but the change at half time didn't help us at all and then he brings another defender on with 70 mins gone and we try and sit in, something we haven't managed to do all season. All odd decisions, which ultimately cost us, again.
I have lost all faith in VK.
Well done to Cullen and Fofana, who I thought were both very good.

I can't get on board with the cheating and playacting that occurs every game from us now either.
Barnes was a saint compared to some of the mard arses who currently wear the shirt.
I'm falling out of love with football fast.

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
Confidence tho in general is shot so even a 2-0 lead is fragile. Hopefully the generally good performance against Bournemouth (score aside!) and todays draw at a decent West Ham helps restore a bit of confidence.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 4:14 pmIt's wrong to focus on the negatives, but you can't ignore them either.
