Re: Tella
People on here tried saying in the summer tella and Gyokeres wouldn’t be worth the money
Re: Tella
Good luck to the lad ... great shame he wasn't a Claret this season ... we have missed that beaming grin at TM this season "Nathan Tella Baby ooooh oh oh oh"

Re: Tella
So he doesn’t play a lot and is mainly on the flank, like he was here
They’re benefiting from him spending a season with us rediscovering his form etc and he’s doing a job being used mainly as a sub over there
We don’t know how he would’ve been as first choice here in the PL, although some will claim to definitely know that he would’ve been as good as he was last season etc
He made a good career move, pining after him doesn’t achieve much
Re: Tella
My god do we miss his pressing from the front.
Transfermarkt has all the stats.
80% as a right winger, then left wing. None as a forward.
Only played one 90 mins all season. Vast majority of his early games were under 10 mins. That has slowly increased in recent months.
Only four goals, but averaging to hit the back of the net every 90 minutes.

Re: Tella
VK decision to buy a new team has flunked badly … Tella would maybe fetch 30m plus now … slightly more than the 9m VK offered ..:

Re: Tella
Not sure how much of a difference he would have made football wise.
But we certainly miss his smile and positivity around the place.

Re: Tella
You’ve got to think that WHEN they win the league they will ‘go again’ in the transfer market and this might have an impact on how much game time Tella gets next season (he hasn’t had too much this season).
Of course there’s also the distinct possibility of them having a new manager next season too.
Would love him back if there’s even remotely a chance.

Have you seen any of his games in the Bundesliga?

In all honesty he’s not played a lot.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 8:11 pmYou seriously don't think he would have made a difference to this team, football wise?

I’ve seen some of the times he’s played and he’s looked really good but I would also say some of the opposition not much better than the Championship.
We’ve missed him this year but I’m delighted to see him do well. I’d tend to agree that we probably wouldn’t be in much different position but would be good to have him around the place.
I’d sell a kidney to be able to loan him next season but as Murger says that’s not going to happen

Re: Tella
That's five league goals for Tella now and one in the Europa league.
Top player - gives so much more than goals to a team.
Happy to see him flying - just wish he was flying with Burnley not Leverkusen!

I’m all for congratulating the lad, he was stellar for us last season but he’s gone on now to better things and there are people stating they wish he’d signed and how he’d improve the team etc

Re: Tella
Scored 7 including in the Europa League and EFL Championship. Didn’t start a league game for Beyer until late January. Got 4 since. Averaging a goal per 90 minutes. Third in the league behind Guirassy and Kane on the per 90 min goals (ignoring those with only 1 goal).
My favourite though - Nathan’s last defeat in a match he took part in, in 2022 versus Sheffield United away .
Re: Tella
I'm pining after him, loved that guy last season - his smile, enthusiasm, motivation, work ethic, movement, goals.
I've read a couple of great interviews with him recently. Sounds like he struggled in those early games when he first moved, understandably, and was generally replacing frimpong who is doing brilliantly for Leverkusen, but now he sees the faith his manager is giving, understands he can make an impact and getting the goals. I wish him well and hope he scores more to help them win the league.

Re: Tella
I came down with a bump when he was so cagey in the town hall interview. It was clear he had no expectation he would be at Burnley next season, was my first reaction when I watched it.
I’d have liked him to stay, but I did not expect it, as a result of the above. Great for the lad if as looks likely he gets a league winners medal. Glad he keeps in touch with AP (and the club), think it says a lot about both of them that they do.

It's a long list of our worst signings but pound for pound and based on appearances Tressor and Ramsey must be in the top 10

Re: Tella
You would have to be a bit daft to continually hammer a 21 yr old in his first year at a new club, playing at a new level but don't let that stop you slating Ramsey at any chance.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:05 amIt's a long list of our worst signings but pound for pound and based on appearances Tressor and Ramsey must be in the top 10
When I say a bit daft, I don't actually mean a bit
Re: Tella
You would have to be even more daft to not realise that Woodleyclaret is not having a go at Ramsey personally in the post you have queried or even his potential but at the actual price we paid!... Hence the reference to 'pound for pound' lol... No other team would have paid anywhere near what we paid for him, so Woodleyclaret is absolutely spot on and you missed the point entirely!Woodleyclaret wrote: It's a long list of our worst signings but pound for pound and based on appearances Tressor and Ramsey must be in the top 10...

Before diving in read his previous comments on Ramsey whenever he has played for us.
Hence the continually hammer, rather than thinking it was all about 1 post
