Today’s football 17/3
Chelsea v Leicester as well as some other games.
Ridiculous that Leicester’s away kit is so similar to their home kit. At least it is not as hideous as some of the other away kits for example, Arsenal’s.

Re: Today’s football 17/3
Why are TV Directors obsessed with showing a repeat of something when the live action is going on. BBC just missed a classic own goal because of this. SKY are even worse at it.

such a dumb rule
Re: Today’s football 17/3
Agreed! Commentator says "Yellow- he made a genuine attempt to get the ball"
Total rubbish!
No attempt other than to trip, outside the box.

We can definitely get something at Chelsea after the international break, the atmosphere is getting toxic, it reminds me of when we went to West Ham and won 3-0.

Re: Today’s football 17/3
the rule is if it's inside the box they get the pen and it's a yellow card but because it's outside it's a red card
"Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off.”
There was no way on planet earth he meant to trip him, the front of his foot just about contact Jackson.

Think Poch's position will be rather precarious if Chelsea contrive to lose this.

It’s no wonder Chelsea get to so many cup finals. How effing often do they pull out a home draw against lower league opposition?
Do they ever play outside London?

proper embarrassing for the Chelsea fans, 2 subs scored
Re: Today’s football 17/3
Need to do all we can to frustrate Chelsea when we go there, no gifting them stupid/soft goals. Their fans will soon turn on them going off what happened today.

the very worst of 'football fans' imho. I'm yet to see a player do well when supporters are on their back, it's literally the opposite of what they need

Re: Today’s football 17/3
Obafemi vs Connor Roberts in 10 mins - though Roberts starts on the bench for DL.
Re: Today’s football 17/3
Tbf Sterling taking the penalty off Palmer when he's scored 5 out of 5 was ridiculous. Still actually booing your own player is crazy.

Re: Today’s football 17/3
yep, they were a mediocre club before Roman rocked up with his money. There's not a single team in sport that 'deserves' anything, you have to put the work in and it can take seasons to get it right which makes the constant chopping and changing of managers pretty mental for most clubs. Funnily enough under Abramovich Chelsea had a lot of success doing that, rare occurrence though imho

There was no possibility to play the ball, he just tripped him.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 2:31 pmthe rule is if it's inside the box they get the pen and it's a yellow card but because it's outside it's a red card

you think he tripped him on purpose ? We won't agreeBurnley Ace wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 2:55 pmThere was no possibility to play the ball, he just tripped him.
edit: the point is, if it's in the area then VAR don't give him a red, because it's outside they do

Re: Today’s football 17/3
Fully aware of the law but to be fair I’d have kept it as it was - denying a goal scoring opportunity is a Red regardless of inside or outside of box.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 2:31 pmthe rule is if it's inside the box they get the pen and it's a yellow card but because it's outside it's a red card

However, if outside the box and least there is some communpence for the offending team by losing a player otherwise their is nothing lost apart from their player getting a caution and a small chance of conceding from a free kick.
