Great report. “But finally, common sense had prevailed” sums it all up.
Can you hang around looking for the MtB cameras every game between now and the end of the season please Tony?

Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
"He wouldn’t have been in the team at the start of the season had I been picking the team but I was expecting him to be there when the team was announced for the Manchester City game back in August. I remain bemused that the lad’s been left there since. I don’t care what reasoning Vincent Kompany has given, he’s hung Trafford out to dry for weeks now and given the reception Muric received, I don’t think I’m the only one carrying those thoughts."
I think that just about sums up the disregard shown to last seasons heroes.

A great report and couldn't agree more on the treatment of Trafford. His confidence may never recover from this season and it's absolutely inexcusable, especially when we've had last year's Championship goalkeeper of the year sitting on our effing bench.
Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
I don’t blame Trafford at all. I blame VK for playing him every game to justify signing him.

Yeah I do agree. JT was moving about with a hat and snood on covering his face when walking from the dugout, when it wasn't even that cold. Felt to me like he was trying to keep a low profile, which is a real shame if that is the case.

So nice to read a win report, cut it fine though.
The Trafford situation is nearly unbelievable, why the change now when it should have been made weeks ago?

Will we be waiting with baited breath just before 2pm on the 30th March to see who our custodian is that day?'

Dilemma now for the manager because he can't really recall the goalkeeper that he clearly wants to playSilkyskills1 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 3:34 pmWill we be waiting with baited breath just before 2pm on the 30th March to see who our custodian is that day?'

This was probably why he became so reluctant to change it.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 4:00 pmDilemma now for the manager because he can't really recall the goalkeeper that he clearly wants to play
Its now undermined his authority to some extent and now gives players that havent been playing ammo to argue thay VK is getting it wrong with his selection.
Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
Great report CT. I noticed at the end it took VK ages before he shook Muric hand, pretty much all the team before him, and even then it was very muted compared to what his team mates got. I cant help feeling there is a bit of friction there, but who cares, if he keeps playing like he did I cant see how VK can drop him.

Great report.
Muric has now given VK the kick the arse that he needed.

Great report Tony, the only person to blame is Vincent not James he was only doing what is manager said and in my view should not have started the season as no 1 . When the great Bill Shankly was Liverpool manager he told is player's he signed you have fight for that shirt and earn the right to play , i just hope Vincent as learned the lesson for the future ..

Completely unfathomable as to why it took so long for the penny to drop for VK
regarding the position of goalkeeper.

Maybe its not VK who's selecting the player for that particular position.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 8:26 amCompletely unfathomable as to why it took so long for the penny to drop for VK

Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
“It was a game that saw a red card, Burnley win a rare penalty, from which Jacob Bruun Larsen scored our first goal, a red card, another goal from David Datro Fofana, a late battle to ensure we kept our lead and a team change that I think surprised everyone and certainly pleased most who were inside Turf Moor yesterday.”
This suggests there was two red cards.
Great report, as always though. The Muric change should've happened weeks ago. Seeing his name on the teamsheet just lifted the place.
Now, if we can hold out for a draw against Chelsea…

It does - or I should say did because I've corrected it.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 9:06 am“It was a game that saw a red card, Burnley win a rare penalty, from which Jacob Bruun Larsen scored our first goal, a red card, another goal from David Datro Fofana, a late battle to ensure we kept our lead and a team change that I think surprised everyone and certainly pleased most who were inside Turf Moor yesterday.”

This seems clear to me, even going back to last season. Didnt he sub him at half time in one game? Thats not normal behaviour if there's no injury, there was clearly some issues between the 2. We were also constantly being linked with keepers in the Summer, it was obvious he was looking to replace Muric, which evidence suggests wasnt for solely performance based reasons.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 4:24 pmGreat report CT. Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
He was substituted three times last season but the half time one was the home game against Watford. He'd been poor but was apparently ill.Goliath wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 10:40 amThis seems clear to me, even going back to last season. Didnt he sub him at half time in one game? Ah yes, i didnt buy that at the time, wasnt it very soon after the story about his extravagant bar bill somewhere after promotion was confirmed?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 11:07 amHe was substituted three times last season but the half time one was the home game against Watford. Big assumption but i get the feeling there is possibly some attitude/commitment issues with Muric which would grate on someone like Kompany, who by all accounts is a workaholic. We might be seeing similar with Tresor.

Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
I noticed how a number of players went straight to Muric after the game to give him a big hug. That says a lot of things besides the stubborness of our manager to not play him until the 28th game.
Re: REPORT: And finally a second home win for the Clarets
It doesnt show that, thats just your perception of the moment. It could just show they were happy for Muric.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 11:35 amI noticed how a number of players went straight to Muric after the game to give him a big hug.
