It's definitely a story with a happy ending as I think far too many dogs which are suitable for rehoming are put to sleep but that's opening another debate up.

We might have a Bradford post code and we might have unfortunately been taken under the Bradford Council umbrella in the 70s but we most certainly aren’t Bradfordians, makes my stomach turn even thinking about being associated with them.

If someone asks where I’m from, I’d still always say Bradford (plenty who I know would say Leeds).

One of Bradford’s biggest issues is that too many of its residents, from the surrounding areas, are staying away from the City, and actually disassociating themselves.

Issues that many a traditional Bradfordian are highlighting as a problem are only being compounded by their self enforced exile.

There’s quite a bit of development going on in Bradford at the moment and more in the pipeline - much of it seems like a treating a gaping wound with a sticking plaster, unless they address some of the deeper rooted problems.

2 of our LP Clarets whatsapp group are Keighley born and bred ... both retired, one in their 70's and one almost in his 80th year ... both would be mortified to be called Bradford folk both have followed Burnley always, and Mike has been going on the Turf since the mid 50's.

Sounds like you are describing Blackpool and quite a few other former boom towns around the UK unfortunately.

Yes, could be describing plenty of towns…. Sorry state of affairs in Bradford though, a large and once thriving City. It’s being put to shame by the likes of Halifax and even Huddersfield.
