Oldest Stands/Grounds
As we visit Goodison tomorrow, for possibly the last ever time, it got me thinking how many old grounds/stands there are left.
The Bullens Rd stand was opened in 1926. Are there any older?? I can only think of Kenilworth Road and maybe parts of Villa Park that remain in the Premier League

Not sure there is anything left at Villa other than potentially the front of the main stand. What about Palace?Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 2:55 pmAs we visit Goodison tomorrow, for possibly the last ever time, it got me thinking how many old grounds/stands there are left.

The Johnny Haynes Stand at Craven Cottage was built in 1905.

One of Grimsby’s stands was built in 1901, although they have modified some of it.

Bramall Lane dates back to 1855, i seem to recall, but don't know how old the stands are.

Re: Oldest Stands/Grounds
The two side stands and the away end have all been built since I first went. The Shoreham Street end was covered terracing then but I think it's a new roof at least.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 5:00 pmBramall Lane dates back to 1855, i seem to recall, but don't know how old the stands are.

Re: Oldest Stands/Grounds
Both the cottage and the Stevenage Road stand are listed buildings I believe. That was always one of the issues at Highbury with two of the stands there listed buildings.dougcollins wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 4:48 pmThey have to preserve the 'Cottage' by order I believe - it would make development difficult.

There can't be many older stands than the CFS kicking about.
