Be surprised if they manage to start the season in 2 weeks.

It was obvious weeks ago.
Just hope no groundsmen have ruined the square trying to prepare a wicket.

No choice really, I can’t imagine any grounds will be playable, even the professional grounds are struggling
I’ve read Matt Le Tissiers account of why we have so much rain fall at the moment, apparently the government are creating more clouds… no I’m not joking either.

There'll be no problem rearranging the second division fixtures. They have plenty of spare dates.
The first division have more of a problem because of clashes with the Lancashire Cup. Possibly their best option might be to play on a couple of Bank Holiday Mondays, which are normally reserved for 3rd XI matches, and make sure the relevant 3rd XIs are playing away that day.

There's plenty of videos on YouTube about cloud seeding and geoengineering for you to make your own mind up.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 8:49 pmNo choice really, I can’t imagine any grounds will be playable, even the professional grounds are struggling

The hotter countries have been doing it for years. Not saying our country is doing it though.

He doesn't trust the government at all.
Can't say I blame him.

Softies, outdoor Bowling season has already started on lovely playing surfaces ..
Re: Lancs League: Delay to start of season
They never have rearranged second XI fixtures, even in the days when replays of 1st XI fixtures happened regularly. (There is usually space in the 3rd XI if they want extra games!)

They do now.
As expected both first and second team games from the first two weeks are rearranged.

Re: Lancs League: Delay to start of season
I see Burnley have signed Adam Hodge. If it's the one from Earby, he's a great young talent.
Burnley certainly attract the best talent from the Ribblesdale league club.

Lets hope the rain stays away ...my team Walsden difficult start against Ramsbottom should be top but getting a promotion slot is wide open
