And now there's an Italian who has probably only been on a handful of times, telling me, in my 53rd season of watching my team when I can and can't leave my seat !
Whatever next.

Don't worry. He changed sides before the end anyway.

As stated before, it was 4-0 when I left not 3, READ my post. Why don't you and Cricket Field have a love-in and nosh each other off whilst claiming you are real fans for staying till the end, whilst calling people who left for whatever reason. If I don't have to be somewhere else, I stay till the end, but as stated before, why does it grind your gears if I leave early? Go f**k yourself.

It’s no wonder the players showed such a lack of fight when they are backed by cowardice.

I have tried to leave early for the Preston v Burnley match in 1993 (I think) in the Potato Pie Cup (Leyland Daf Cup?). Again, from dodgy memory, I think we were losing 5-0 at half time and I had a long drive home to make on a miserable night. Tried to get out of the ground but couldn't....no gates open. I ended up being walked by the side of the pitch and turfed out through PNE's offices - ha ha.
Edit: Think it was 1991, actually!

No
But respect the right of others to do so.
I would be smug for years though if we won a game like yesterdays 5.4

Or the Preston game - 3 1 down and we won 4 3!
I once left at the final whistle (I usually wait to clap the players off) as I had to get to the other side of Leeds by 7.30. I ran very quickly to the car park by Next. I passed a constant stream of people all the way there. The ones I caught up in the car park must have left at least 20 mins before the end. This game was a normal score game.

Sadly the PNE game I refer to ended 6-1 to them, I think
Not unhappy about missing the second half.
Mind you, I have turned up at a game desperate for the loo and just got into the ground at 3.00pm. I managed to miss the kick off and our goal (scored after a few seconds of the start of the game) and we won the game 1-0. (That was away at Cambridge and might well have been 1993. Maybe that's a new thread....games where you turned up late and missed something....?)

Only if it meant the difference in getting home to Belfast or not - having missed flights before. I left the 5-3 game at Upton Park at 5-2, having threatened to leave when it was 5-0 and then 5-1. I also left the Peterborough game in the snow early and missed Jay Rod's goal of the season, but I would not have got home otherwise.

I left West Brom when we were losing 8-0 in November 1967 (Jeff Astle scored 5), and missed Arthur Bellamy's late consolation goal. To make the day even worse I was hitchhiking with 2 mates and we ended up sleeping in a field somewhere near Walsall, finally getting home around Noon the following day.

Yet again you show what a prat you are, a team lacking fight wouldn't have scored the two late goals that we did.

He's fishing. I noticed he goes through waves. Often he'll try 3 times on a single thread when the first 2 don't get the reaction he wanted. Other times he'll do it over a weekend and then calm down for a few weeks before trying again. He's not the brightest spark, shall we say.

Earliest I’ve left is 75 minutes against Stoke a few years back. Barnes got a late winner.
I was absolutely soaked to the bone, shaking and couldn’t feel my legs, the weather was absolutely disgusting that night.

Between around 1983 and 1990, I don't think I ever saw a kick off at t'Turf.

I use to go on a few games in the 80s with my dad who was reporting on the game for the local press. He always told me to leave with 20 minutes to go to avoid any crowd trouble outside the ground as he feared for my safety. I wasn't best pleased

There was fans who left at half time in my block.
Its a good job Sean Dyche doesn't decide to leave early because he has to get back to Northampton and turn his back on the team if things aren't going right.
But i think the club wouldn't want someone like that how would the players feel after battling and trying against one of the biggest clubs in the world.
What state would the armed forces be in if its infantry deserted in the middle of a battle so they could put there feet up and watch the report of the out come on TV
But everyone to there own once a claret always a claret and all that UTC

Sean Dyche, to be fair, he is paid a lot of money to stick around after half time.... that said we used to pay Kevin McDonald too

No issue with people leaving early as there could be any number of reasons for this, but my one annoyance with this is that if you leave your seat to leave just go, don't hang around on the steps or at the exit blocking other people path and views!

Only been going to games since 1997 when I was 11 years old., so I didn't suffer 80's bottom League stuff.
But during that time I've been watching home and away, I've only left early once, the 0-0 draw at home to Luton in the 19 games without a win run.
Absolutely shocking match, both sides were awful.. left about 5 minutes early to get away.. but I felt like I had been sitting there watching for 4 hours it was that bad.
At least these days even on bad days at least your watching quality players on the other side and we have all the glorified coverage of the Premier League.

Twice from what i can remember .
First time was Coventry away now we were 2 up and missed the last goal i am sure Taffy was playing but can recall the year must be in the 70s , we left as wanted to get back to the train as there was trouble in the air . The other was Blackpool away as we were 4-0 down at HT , i wanted to stay but the other 3 lads wanted to go so i went along with it , hey we lost 4-2 .
Never left a game here in Ireland for some reason the hardest was losing 8-0 at home to local rivals Sligo , i still wondered why i stayed .
