Re: Some big games today
Certainly don't want a Villa draw, likewise Newcastle.
If Villa lose it'll put enormous pressure on Dean Smith.

If we think Norwich Villa and Bournemouth will go down then we need wins today for Watford and Brighton. Its so tight and still 45 points to play for

Watford and Brighton wins. Keeps Bournemouth and Villa down there and reduces the chances of either of them being able to get up to 35+ points.

draws in the top 2 and home wins the bottom 2.
Beat Bmouth, Watford and BHA at home and you'd have thought we'll be fine and dandy (with other bits and bobs)

Re: Some big games today
I'd prefer a Villa v Watford draw. Watford have had a good run lately but still 4 points behind us (Villa 5 behind us) so a point each is better than one of then getting all 3. Watford still have us to play at TM so they have a bit of catching up to do IF we get 3 from that.
Likewise a draw for Bournemouth v Brighton though I wouldn't be unhappy with a BHA win as I had a bet on Bournemouth to be relegated pre-season at 6/1.
I'd prefer a Palace win over Saints, CP already on 30 pts and, although they have improved of late, Saints still might struggle-especially if Ings has an injury or loss of form.
I'd prefer Everton to beat Toon. I doubt either will be dragged fully into the relegation battle but Newcastle have a lot of injuries and are more likely to finish lower than Toffees.
WHU and Norwich to lose tomorrow please; then WHU to lose their game in hand (H to Liverpool next week).

Villa vs Watford
- Watford win. Playing well, in form, likely to finish nearer mid-table. Keeps Villa down there.
Bournemouth vs Brighton
- Anything but a Bournemouth win.
Everton v Newcastle
0-0
Palace v Saints

Re: Some big games today
Of course we could simply go to OT tomorrow and win which would make tonight’s results irrelevant

Re: Some big games today
Simple for me. If they are above us and playing someone below us I hope they win. It's important to keep the ones below us - below us.
As far as the games above:
Bournemouth to win or a draw.
Everton v Newcastle a draw but couldn't really care less as they are on the same points - either to win makes the other catchable.
Palace to win all the way.
Villa a draw would be best but a Watford win if not.

Re: Some big games today
Watford are on a new manager bounce. They’ll soon be back to early season form.
Likelihood they will stay up though.
Not sure Villa would ditch Smith. Every chance he could bring them straight back up. They play some tidy football just not PL quality. Some would possibly want out.

Why a Bournemouth win as the gap between us and them would be cut to just four points?houseboy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 4:51 pmSimple for me. If they are above us and playing someone below us I hope they win. It's important to keep the ones below us - below us.

Re: Some big games today
Absolutely. Anything but a Bournemouth win. It's the points that the bottom 3 currently have that we don't want increasing. Therefore Bournemouth and Villa losses would be good.

Why hasn’t VAR stepped in? Henderson a clear yard in front of his line before the ball was struck.

That might be the case in other games but in tonight's match they should be dead an buried. Man City have had as many clear cut, easy opportunities to score as they did against us.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 8:19 pmI suspect he will be, makes some daft mistakes but he’s very young yet.

I’ll be amazed if no one is sent off in the Sheff Utd game. Some nasty tackles flying in.
