Yes, but Giles nearly always gets the last line on the programme - and correctly so. He comes out with some real gems.

They are not always as amusing as some of the others, but - like you - I do like them. They seem a really good genuine family and are very perceptive.LoveCurryPies wrote:I like the Asian guys....Dad and sons.

Is it just me or does anyone else find this the most pointless tv ever? Watching people on tv watching tv. I really really really don’t get this.

Tbh that was my view but it's the people watching TV that are very funny and probably underpaid to..houseboy wrote:Is it just me or does anyone else find this the most pointless tv ever? Watching people on tv watching tv. I really really really don’t get this.
There's always mrs Browns boys I suppose but I really don't get that prog. What's your idea of comedy on TV? I'm seeing very little humour on the box nowadays... Most of what is passed as comedy being sanitised to appease the offended.

Re: Gogglebox
Not a lot of class comedy on just now I admit but I did laugh at David Walliams on Rossy when he announced his latest novel was called The Beast of Buckingham Palace. The complete failure of anyone to keep a straight face under current circumstances was pure gold. Could he have timed it better?tim_noone wrote:Tbh that was my view but it's the people watching TV that are very funny and probably underpaid to..

Steph and Dom are sadly missed from this programme. I can't stand the brother and sister act from cesspool, as thick as pigshite them two are

Re: Gogglebox
Stephen from the male couple I find annoying. He attempts to re-enact something in a way he thinks is funny, yet then repeats it 5 or 6 times, when most folk would do it once. I find myself fast forwarding those 15 seconds.
The Manchester family are the best for me.

Re: Gogglebox
They are the best two on it. Both of em quite witty and funny, and the sister is rather easy on the eye.karatekid wrote:Steph and Dom are sadly missed from this programme. I can't stand the brother and sister act from cesspool, as thick as pigshite them two are

Re: Gogglebox
In my top 2/3 telly programmes, rest of my family just don’t get it but I think it’s watching regularly and ‘getting to know’ the characters and it also saves watching a lot of other telly.

The first series was fresh and innovative. Now its scripted and has lost its appeal.

It's certainly a great way to see clips of programmes that you've not yet got around to watch, or initially didn't bother with.Holtyclaret wrote:and it also saves watching a lot of other telly.

Yea, I feel sorry for his sister, because anyone banging her in the future will just have visions of banging the scrawny brother, they look so alike they could be twins, she's tidy enough but he's a scrawny little ****,funny how you can look alike and be so different.

Think Gogglebox perfectly outlines the UK divide, the further you go south for families the more annoying and depressing they are.

Re: Gogglebox
I tried watching this once on the advice of one of my daughters then realised I was watching people watching TV. Now it may bring a lot of pleasure to some so I can't knock it too much but doesn't it strike some people as the most pointless TV imaginable? My biggest admiration is for the person or people who came up with it and actually managed to sell it to the TV companies as a good idea, that was some sales pitch.
Re: Gogglebox
Who came up with the idea?
Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash. In 1998!

Youd like me watching This Arsenal game on TV!
Re: Gogglebox
If I ever get to the point of ever wanting to waste my life watching other people watch tv then it might as well be over. Crap tv like Mrs Browns Boys and probably appeals to Daily Star readers.
