Burke, Bogle, Lowe names that trip of the tongue. I’ll bet Blades fans are orgasmic.
Wilder was only talking this week about the internationals that were coming in.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We have gossip of Tarkowski going, Mee injured, Gibson gone,Long has long term back injury. CH is absolutely top priority to fill. Personally I thought Duffy of Brighton could have been a safe short term bet, but he has gone to Celtic and with a £2m loan fee could prove to be a great bit of business
The other option would be Craig Dawson-who just like Rodriguez has been courted by us for some time. If Mee is still injured when we start, he could drop straight in, and I suspect Watford wil currently be rebuilding and might be receptive to selling. Dawson can not only also play RB, and I think this coming season Lowton or Bardsley will be targetted by many teams and get found out. Dawson is great at set pieces, like Tarkowski a no nonsense defender who can easily score 3-4 goals a season. I also seem to recall he still has links to thge North West

Not sure why Lowton or Bardsley will get ‘found out’ this season both good experienced top flight players.

How many times have you seen him play to form the same opinion as ‘Derby fans’?

Not sure about beingfound out but we definitely need to bring in a RB that's better than both of them.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:05 pmNot sure why Lowton or Bardsley will get ‘found out’ this season both good experienced top flight players.
Keep one for back up.
That's if finances allow.

Plenty of Derby fans on a certain social media outlet saying same today
I'll remember to quote the exact figure in future should I discuss any group of people, just to keep 1 person from picking me up about it.
I hope all your posts from now on follow your own rules.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
SHP-I think Lowton and Bardsley have been very good acquisitions, but Lowton had a run of poor games after Christmas and Bardsley took his place.
In all the post lockdown games, which Bardsley played (which I think was all 9 except one) we were OK defensively at RB, but offered nothing going forwards . The difference between our combination on the left (McNeil & Taylor) and right side is like chalk and cheese
Graeme Souness said recently that Burnley's success is they have players that are not at the level of a number of other PL teams, but they play regularly at the top of their game, and I feel he is rightBoth Bards and Lowts are very much coming to the end of their PL careers.

Not sure what your love in is for Bogle but he is over-rated. When he was linked with us previously I watched him a few times and in two of them games he was subbed off and Holmes went from midfield to RB. He improved them considerably.Steve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 6:15 pmWhat are you on about? That's my opinion having seen him play.
How many games do you suggest I watch him play before forming an opinion of him?
Just as a guideline, I saw Gary cahill play twice before forming the opinion he'd play for England.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
It's difficult to tell how players might fit in
If we went off on how opposition fans rate 'our targets' - then Ashley Westwood would've been utter pants and Ben Gibson would've been Englands next centre back.
I remember a thread on a Brighton forum where a number of fans were very critical of Ashley Barnes and couldn't believe their luck when Burnley paid a fee for him. The thread is bumped to the yop of the board every time he had some impact, especially in the Premier League.

Bonkers fee, and people think the European market is cheaper to shop in, he may turn out to be a good signing, but that's a big fee for someone unproven in a major league.Gordaleman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 7:03 pmThe world's gone mad. £35 million for an 18 year old.

It shows what Burnley are up against in their quest for new players. No way can Burnley afford that sort of money for one player.
Why sell Tarky, McNeill or Pope to bring in someone we don't know? Just keep all three of them and give the youngsters a chance if we need to.

Goes to show where we fit in the top flight. Were naturally going to be pushed out - even the 'no ambition' brigade can't argue with that.
They must be expecting to make some money from him.

Is Trippier going to take a big pay cut to come and play for us, when he's highly likely to have better offers? Can't see it somehow.

Big shoes for him to fill if he's taking Jimenez's place. And the step up to the PL is large from the Primeira Liga.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 10:05 pmWolves paying out but how much have tgey got coming in for Jimenez, if this kid is his replacement?

Wouldn't it be quicker to make a short list of our players who haven't been linked with another club?
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I’m not sure it’s right to select this transfer as any sort of yardstick for other potential targets from Europe. As with spending more, there’s a middle ground.
I don’t think anyone expects us to spend to the point of putting the future of the club at risk, just as I don’t think anyone expects us to be signing an untried teenager for over £30 million.

Entirely agree. Dawson my #1 choice for replacing Gibson, but would also have taken Duffy as second choice.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 5:58 pmWe have gossip of Tarkowski going, Mee injured, Gibson gone,Long has long term back injury. BURNLEY. Taking big interest in Delph at EVERTON. One of those who fits the vacancy left by Hendrick. Down to price etc.
Would be happy with this.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Wouldn't be unhappy with Delph but wouldn't be overly enthused. Would fill a spot and if we can concentrate on a right winger and a centre half, Dawson mentioned above would fill that back up position. Then that'd be satisfactory as transfer windows go.claretandy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 8:47 amNixon

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Versatile is Delph, he would cover both full back positions as well as all the midfield slots.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Delph certainly fits our age profile - 31 in a couple of months
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Don't disagree. Could be a useful, experienced utility player. Everton do need to thin out their squad/move on a few so could be something in this.claretandy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 8:52 amVersatile is Delph, he would cover both full back positions as well as all the midfield slots.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I thought Delph had had some bad injuries. Played 16 times for the toffees last season and rarely played a large number of games/season in the Prem League according to Wicki.as far back as 2009- 2010, 8,7,11,24,34,28, 17,7,22,11.
He has 2 years left on his Everton contract and cost up to £10million so doubt we would get him on the cheap and any transfer fee will be dead money as he is 31 in November

People are too worried about age, we live for the here and now - Delph would move our squad up in quality, a clear raise of the bar for the midfield and is a versatile performer and a winner. We’d get 2-3 really good years out of him.
Very much a yes please from me.

I remember the same negativity from a few when Joey Barton signed, and look how that worked out. Plus from what we have seen from brownhill, he is equally as adapt in the middle or on the right.

I would be very surprised if we got him, but if we did it would be very good business. Everton are spending big, and with a reasonable transfer fee we might, as has been said above get them to pay £30k of his wages
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Would prefer we go for Davies if we're wanting to take advantage of Everton overstocking in midfield. Delph definitely the better player here and now and Davies had a very poor season last time out but I think he's someone Dyche could develop like he did Westwood only much younger and with massive sell on potential.
Delph would be a good signing for the here and now though.

Fwiw this would be an excellent. Tom Davies at Everton is utter bobbins, don’t want us going anywhere near him.
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Would he improve on what we have? Yes, assuming we can keep him fit.
I’m not entirely in agreement about signings just being for the here and now. We need a nice balance, so it would be nice to bring players in that can also improve, ones we might turn a profit on, down the line.

Delph would be an excellent signing with at least a couple of years of game time to contribute.
