The new Bond....
....actor Tom Hardy.
Never heard of him.
What’s he been in? Has he got the right qualities?

Re: The new Bond....
Can’t see it personally.
Googling James Bond news and found Michael Lonsdale who played Hugo Drax in Moonraker has passed today. One of my favourite bond villains.

Re: The new Bond....
I think it’s time we had a female Bond, maybe Thandie Newton. It’s a disgrace that there have been 9 Bonds and each one has been played by a man.

Has this been confirmed?
I thought he was brilliant in Legend. Can see him playing Bond very well.

Re: The new Bond....
People spoke about Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, Henry Cavill or Idris Elba.
Elba distanced himself from the role a while ago, saying he was too old now and he also said it should be a white fella.
Henry Cavill was my preferred choice, especially after The Man From Uncle film, but any of those 4 were good options.
Hardy will be a good Bond though I think, he can do smooth /suave very well, plus the violence side of it will be convincing after seeing his previous roles.
Big boots to fill, Daniel Craig has been a brilliant Bond.

Always though Idris Elba would be great as Bond. Plus it would trigger all the right wing snowflakes crying about political correctness.

He would be great but Ian Fleming created the character and gave him his ancestral routes and descriptions in the books and interviews. I say keep him white just to annoy imbeciles like yourself.

far from it, just not for me. Im not trying to wind anyone up.
Re: The new Bond....
Given Daniel's recent performance as an American in the knives movie I think it's only fair if the next Bond was an American, he could be part of the ancestral routes and descriptions in the books and interviews, that emigrated to the US through his family way back. Or just an American acting as a Brit, I'm sure he will have a great accent.

I'd love to see it, but that's one of the reasons he's stayed retired, he doesn't want little cameos.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Sep 23, 2020 1:15 amYep. But just thought, as he's now 90, a little cameo.

They could be sat at a table, sipping something expensive while the car chase startled the waitress.
James could catch the falling ice cubes and calmly carry on his conversation with a smile.
(Don't think I'll ever make a producer... )

Re: The new Bond....
Warwick Davis should be the next Bond. No international criminal mastermind would be expecting 007 to look like that.

Just a little role then ?
Re: The new Bond....
Yeah. It'd open up a whole new array of action sequences. Such as wrestling frantically with Blofeld's cat

Re: The new Bond....
I think Tom Hardy would make a good Bond but I think he is too old now at 43 considering Bond films these days are usually 4 years apart, not like during the Connery/Moore years when it was only a year or two, which would mean he would be 47 on his first Bond outing (even older than Roger Moore in his first film)
