Interesting read. What's not to like. So persuasive and saying all the things we'd like to believe about Burnley FC.
But, is this just a Liverpool "marketing blurb" or sales pitch, trying to make the case that Burnley should max out the fee Liverpool are looking for?

I love how people slate the likes of Jones and Smalling.
They’d both be plenty good enough in our system.
Both played at the very top level and both got far more International caps than Ben Mee has or ever will have.

What? the one that is on a website Liverpool.com??? Writes about a LIverpool player, Harry Wilson, about Sean Dyche and Burnley and Jurgen Klopp?
Did we read the same article?

From the Liverpool.com link..
'grizzled vikings who play in wellington boots'. That's a vivid imagination.

Having spent year's displaying my cutting edge sense of humour at Phil Jones' expense I would love to see how good he might look in our defensive shape. Funny old game.

Also, if Tarky is going, it will be interesting to see how he performs outside our system.

Ryan Christie wanted by Burnley as Celtic's transfer resolve is set to be tested
The Hoops star has been a long time target of Turf Moor boss Sean Dyche.
Burnley are tracking Celtic ace Ryan Christie and are set to make a big money bid in the final few weeks of the transfer window.
The Hoops star has been a long time target of Turf Moor boss Sean Dyche - who was in the running to land the star when he was still plying his trade with Inverness Caley Thistle.
Christie made the switch to Celtic five years ago but the Burnley gaffer has continued to monitor his progress and is preparing to swoop.
The 25-year-old is under contract at Parkhead until the summer of 2022 but discussions are ongoing regarding an extension.
Hoops boss Neil Lennon does not want to sell as Christie has emerged as a key man in recent seasons.
Dyche wants to strengthen his squad and sees Christie as a bargain buy compared to the expensive English market.
The Scotland international doesn't turn 26 until February and has gone from strength-to-strength in recent seasons.
Having initially struggled to establish himself after a move from Inverness in 2015, Christie has become a regular over the past two campaigns.
He hit 19 goals in all competitions last season, and has three in nine so far this term.

Oh hang on, I've just read the "big money bid" bit. I was under the impression he was a Celtic cast off who was no longer needed up there.
Stand down everyone, this one ain't happening.

Isn’t Christie an attacking midfielder? Doesn’t fit our 4-4-2.

Non starter you’d imagine with the figures quoted and being HITC

It seems Christie plays as a 10 behind a lone striker, doesn’t suit our system and we are already well covered up top.

Nixon says we are keen on Steve Cook for 8m should Tarkowski be sold. Or Scott Dann/Craig Dawson.

Looks to me like he's a midfielder, not a forward.
A bit from a write up:
Christie’s dad, Charlie told us in the summer that his Bhoy should have been in with a shout for the Player of the Year award won by Odsonne Edoaurd, as he’d scored almost 20 goals from midfield last season (Charlie didn’t want to say 19), before dropping in his opinion that his Bhoy might fancy a shot at the English Premier League.

Quotes from that article: “ And if Christie wants to leave Paradise to go Turf Moor then provided that the bid is attractive enough for Celtic, then perhaps it’s best if we let a player who’d prefer to play his football at Burnley rather than Celtic do just that.”
Haha. I hadn’t realised that Celtic was a paradise.

Christie looks like someone for the conveyor belt perhaps - bide his time from the bench, bring the average age down, and when an older midfielder moves on, he can step in.

Steve Cook, Craig Dawson or Scott Dann?
That really would be dusting off the 2016 manual wouldn’t it? ******* hell. Surely we have more imagination than that?

If we’re having to sell Tarkowski to afford the £8m for Steve ******* Cook, then the current ownership has completely run its course and needs to sell up as soon as possible.

Steve Cook? Yes please, sign him on. We need bodies. £800,000 is a little expensive for us but we are getting desperate now. He cost Bournemouth loads of goals last season but we can't afford to be picky.
Oh hang on, I'm out by a factor of 10 there. £8m is the price quoted. As you were, then.

Not really it's a sport and the older you are the more risk to injury and no sell on value and believe it or not younger players are fitter and faster

Which centre halves do you think we should be buying? They obviously need to be good enough to start alongside Mee.

Nixon is simply taking an educated guess at the type of player he thinks we'll be in for, on the back of that some are taking it as fact.
It's a journalist's punt.

Looks that way being that he’s named 3 players. Better chance of an ‘aye’ for him.

None that are being quoted but I would go for the lad at Celtic Šimunović
