Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Its worrying either way.
option 1 - Garlick is acting as a custodian of the club and is concerned that a rebate will need to be paid on the TV rights so needs to keep the money safe for when that happens.
Option 2- The potential new owners have advised they dont want anyone signing due to the risk of relegation and not enough time to move debt on should we get relegated, in which case worrying at the type of people who want buy us, as surely if they wanted to protect their investment they would buy weeks ago and inject money.
Option 3 - we are skint and the only money available is what we make in the transfer market, so £2M from Gibbson of which £1M went on Stephens
Either way doesn't look good, as i dint Garlick budging on any of it.

Chance to vote "hit or miss" on the BBC feed on Burnley's transfer window.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/54364762
At the time of looking, it has 201 upvotes and 3,165 downvotes
Edit - That poll has been followed by a quote from non other than Tony Scholes!
You wouldn't have thought the window had even opened at Burnley. We've done no more than bring in a third choice goalkeeper and central midfielder Dale Stephens who was signed from Brighton for around a million.
That doesn't even cover the players who have left and is despite the manager's constant pleas for new players.
Hope and expectation is at two different levels. We hopes, at minimum, to see a central defender, a young right-back and a wide player, preferably to play on the right
That, I would think, is the bare minimum for most supporters. The expectation is that nothing is going to happen and that seems to be Sean Dyche's view right now.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
I’d honestly love to know how transfer deadline day works at the club.
Was Garlick up all night working on a deal? Or in bed by 10pm snoozing soundly?
Do agents approach Dyche first and ask him if he’d take a player or Rigg/Garlick?
Are the Board on standby to sanction moves if players become available? Ditto a lawyer to sort out the contracts? And a medical team?
Is there a WhatsApp Group they’re all messaging on, and, if there were, would there be any messages on it?
Is Dyche taking training today or actively involved in trying to get signings in? Or is it pre-determined and agreed we won’t be signing anyone so he’s switched his phone off?
Anyone got any insight whatsoever...?

Andy Jones on The Athletic says not to expect much but we are still in the market and it will depend on a suitable opportunity arising.
Chris has papers to get out and won't be on twitter all day.
At this stage I would settle for a last ditch Michael Kightly style loan of a right winger. Actually we could just get 'Kites' back?
Who remembers the palpable lift that signing gave us? - those were the days, when we were skint but had hope.
