Yep, god knows what’s gone on there that couldn’t have been sorted out with a good old fashioned fist fight and a beer in the pub afterwards.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 8:12 pmAnd when the chairman stumps up the cash like 15 million on Gibson, Dyche decides he surplus to requirements.
I’m convinced that’s the root of Garlick’s extra caution along with the covid uncertainty

How do we replace Gibson we haven’t received any money for himsummitclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 8:07 pmMaybe, but surely it was worth a relatively small risk to replace Gibson and Lennon. It comes across like we have just given up.

And Dyche didn't decide he was surplus, its the fact you can't drop on form Mee and Tarkowski just to fit him in.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER/AUTUMN 2020 (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
The “one club mentality” that Dyche preached has to return.
Dyche needs to remember this. His outbursts are causing disunity between fans, mngt & owners.
We’re not going to spend, we all need accept this. It’s time to unite, and if we go down, well it wasn’t going to happen eventually.
One thing is for certain though, we are stronger together than apart.

Someone to replace Tarks when he leaves no later than next Summer. That someone would surely be confident that a vacancy was imminent.Granny WeatherWax wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 8:10 pmIt still costs money
Who could we sign of the required quality to come and sit on the bench to cover for mee / tarks?

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER/AUTUMN 2020 (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
The same way you support your family, with patience and understanding.
Would you rag your family if they didn't deliver what you wanted in the middle of a pandemic? Of course you wouldn't. So why expect more of the board.
Nobody knew back in February what the affects of Covid would be on the finances. We still don't know what the final outcome will be, as we haven't a clue how long it's going to last. Any reasonable person would understand that the Board are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I have no doubt they have the best interests of the club at heart. Spending what we haven't got on a gamble is a road to disaster.
Without gate receipts and a lessened TV revenue, spending 40 million in this window, might take up our profits for the next 3 years. That would be 5 more windows to come with nothing to spend. And even that might not see us stay up. If we did that and got relegated, the club could be shafted.
So tell me, do you really want the board to take that gamble, because if you do, you're not really a fan, just a glory hunter.

Some of the anti board posts are ridiculous but equally so are some of the pro board posts.
The reality is that however you dress it up we are staring at another prolonged period where Kevin Long is our back up centre half and our wingers are made of balsa wood.
It didn’t need £40m or whatever to resolve and maybe Dyche himself is part of the problem by limiting our options but either way, it’s a bit of a shambles.

Dyche is 100% part of the problem but also 100% part of the solution so he’s got to give if we can’t afford the players he wants.

We have 3 prominent posters that have suddenly reared their heads after the news that nothing will happen., against the overwhelming thoughts of supporters and trying to throw it on Dyche. If we lived in Russia you could argue the KGB was involved LOL

Maybe Dyche needs to be a bit more flexible in the sort of players he's willing to work with? Surely he's twigged by now that the sort of players he wants, British and experienced are generally too expensive for us?

Loftus Cheek going out on loan, we’ve proper fooked up here, this was a buyers market especially for PL clubs and we’ve ballsed it up completely. Euros in the summer so players like Loftus Cheek will be desperate for game time, I assume that’s why Barkley went to Villa.

When we had Nugent on loan, we paid a percentage of his wages and a 'loan fee' on top.
That loan fee basically covered the rest of his wages, so what you're saying is doable, but maybe the club don't want to sign the player even if we think he would be a good signing.

Been fit last 8 months but not considered.

Someone has been getting tips from us
Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER/AUTUMN 2020 (MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Well said that man. I agree with much of this. The only thing I disagree with is the bit at the end. We are all Burnley fans and the club is better for it.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 7:59 pmLike a moth drawn to the flame you return to this thread, only to be hit by the same whinging minnies.
It should come with a warning of low flying dummies and teddy bears.
I dread to think how some on this board would cope in the event of an actual crisis.
Slamming the board, when without The Kilbys and Garlicks we probably wouldn't have a club at all. We've been fortunate to enjoy the best 10 years of football at this club for 60 years, when we had no bloody right too. Rubbed shoulders and taken on some of the biggest teams in World football. We've enjoyed results against some of them that have left football fans amazed, and left the vast majority of teams throughout the country, completely jealous of us. Yet instead of seeing the bigger picture, the reality of the affects of Covid, some would rather throw toys at the very people who helped get us here.
It isn't even as if it's over. 3 bloody games in with an injury ravaged squad, yet the white flags wave from over the rim of the prams. I'm sure you won't be, but you really should be ashamed of yourselves. Gutless, pampered and spoiled. You really don't deserve to follow a club as unique as the Clarets.
I have no crystal ball, I don't have a clue where we will finish this season, although I think we have enough to stay safe if we can get our squad back fit and firing. Thats when they will need our support, they don't need this defeatist bullshit emanating from empty stadiums or this message board. The only certainty in football is that at the end of the season 3 teams will go down. If we happen to be one of them, I'll be cheering us on to bounce back straight away. Hopefully most of you will have gone back to supporting your other teams. We don't need you.

Blame it on takeover, Covid, finances, wage structures or whatever, the fact we haven’t even brought in players even for cover is disgraceful.
