Why don't we ever hear from the chairman?
Re: Why don't we ever hear from the chairman?
This team will pick itself in another 2 years - that's how bad it is and 9 will be over 30
So tell me again who is to blame ???

Purely a way of protesting I suppose, as you say no other way of showing your displeasure....unless they on this messageboardFactualFrank wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:30 pmThey can't get to the game anyway so not sure what good that will do.

Oh, and throw in the probable need for a new manager and backroom staff. Next summer could be fun.

How many of the over 30s players do you think we should give new contracts to?Sproggy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:51 pmMatt Lowton

Why is Ben Gibson on the list? Do you think we are looking to bring him back to the club?
James Tarkowski - it will be brilliant him Tarks is available to sign a new contract. Anyone expect that will be the case?

Not sure what your point is. They're out of contract so either need to be renegotiated or replaced.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:58 pmHow many of the over 30s players do you think we should give new contracts to?
Because its a list of our players that are out of contract in 2021? No. So we need to replace him.Paul Waine wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 6:58 pmWhy is Ben Gibson on the list? Do you think we are looking to bring him back to the club?

Re: Why don't we ever hear from the chairman?
You've got 4 names on your list that have emerged these last few weeks from the development squad. Maybe there are a few more where they've come from. I'm sure we can all agree that no club needs to keep giving contracts to "old" footballers.
Surely, we've replaced Ben Gibson, one way or another? We let him train away from the club in Jan. He's now on loan at Norwich. Agree we need to maintain the squad, but Gibson hasn't been part of the squad since Jan - his contract end date doesn't need "renewal" attention - well, not unless a new manager has other views to Sean Dyche.
I'm all for keeping a happy Sean Dyche as the first priority.

Do you see yourself as a Burnley customer and not a supporter?Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:15 pmIn the same way I do t often hear from the owner of many businesses that I am a customer of. Stop feeling so entitled because it’s a football club.
I’d say if I was a supporter of someone’s business that I’ve invested my time, money and loyalty to then I’d hope to be kept informed about the questions I have
Re: Why don't we ever hear from the chairman?
If he did say that was the club policy, I didn’t see that quote. If it’s the quote I’m thinking of, I think you’re misinterpreting what he actually said.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:16 pmSD stated that the club policy was to sell first and buy second.
The fact that we haven't sold anyone to raise the required funds means that significant signings are out of financial reach.
SD wanted to retain the players that he had and so I suppose chose the path he wanted to go down.

Your view of yourself doesn't matter.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 4:43 pmDepends whether you see yourself as merely a " customer " of BFC and if you do, whether its just on a par with with all those other businesses
It's how a business sees you and the club sees you as a customer first and foremost for financial reasons.

We often see people targeted on this board. Me thinks CT a bit jealous of Brendan.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 3:56 pmBrendan Flood's the one who hogs the limelight when things are going well

Yes, really.
If a business sees you as a supporter first and not a customer then they're doing it wrong.
Re: Why don't we ever hear from the chairman?
No, but this isn't a matter for debate, I am a supporter not a customer. Football is very very different to a supermarket - you NEED food, your club is something you chose to have in your life and commit to.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 10:12 amYou're a customer.
Without any customers any business is nothing.
Are you a supporter of your preferred supermarket or a customer?
If you see yourself as a customer then I feel sorry for you.

I'm a massive film fan, but I'm a customer of my local cinema (until it closes this week that is)Eyres_11 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 10:21 amNo, but this isn't a matter for debate, I am a supporter not a customer. The same principle applies to football and the money people.
They rely on your unwavering support because they value your custom.
This is part of the problem with football, fans can't seem to get the fact that a club is a business

We used to have an AGM until Mr Garlick took command.
I would sure like you this year but wil not hold my breath.
