Ben Mee improves the defence. Improve the defence you improve the midfield.

If you think this was a good result, you're part of the problem.
It's no wonder the board don't spend money when the expectations are this low

Decent away performance and decent point which I'll always take away from home.
Very impressed with Connor Gallagher in their midfield.

We do actually tend to play better against better opposition. When we play teams we should be beating, we **** it up.
What an absolute crock of.........
Look at our record against the bottom half teams the last few seasons. It's why we've stayed up comfortably the last few years.

Re: West Brom versus MIGHTY CLARETS
You'll need to explain that one further. How can anybody thinking a point is a way back to normality, part of the problem? In what way do we change the training and management of what Sean Dyche does?tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 7:56 pmIf you think this was a good result, you're part of the problem.

I just edited the insult, you were right. A bit OTT. Point still stands. We don't do well against the top clubs in general and do against the bottom half.

Too late. To come out with something like that, rather than have a reasonable discussion says everything I need to know about your personality. Now do one and don't mention me on here again. I'm happy to have a discussion with people - just not with your type.diamondpocket wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:07 pmI just edited the insult, you were right. A bit OTT. Point still stands. Re: West Brom versus MIGHTY CLARETS
yeah, it would be real boring if we just got into Europe now and again, won more than we lost and comfortably finished in the top 10. Let's stave off relegation every year and be an exciting lower end Prem team with loads to look forward to and have the Championship shitting bricks for when we arrive there!!

Re: West Brom versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Precisely we have no divine right to win games at this level, and we should never take our top flight status for granted, as many appear to now do.
To put tonight's result into perspective, we earned a point, which is the same as Chelsea did on their visit to the Hawthorns.

What a load of nonsense nobody gets relegated after 4 games.

Very true, but do you really think that we have it in us to escape? I think this is a season too far for this squad.

West Brom just drew one of their few 'winnable' home games.
Come May they might regret it.

yeah, water off a duck's back mate. I'm pretty chilled. Learnt that from my parents. I guess you learned to use your fists early doors seeing as that was your first reaction!FactualFrank wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:32 pmThat's your personality summed up. I blame your parents.
It's a messageboard old man. Stop getting ya knickers in a twist and lighten up. Jesus. Defend your point if you're that worked up.

It won't be easy, but all we need to do is finish above 3 other teams, and we are more than capable of doing that, Brighton, Fulham & Sheff Utd are also struggling and I wouldn't rule out the likes of Newcastle, Palace or West Ham being drawn into a dogfight either despite their decent starts.
We are lacking in certain areas that goes without saying, but we have players to return, notably Cork & Mee, once we get back to full strength we've shown that we're more than handy in this league, and it only takes a couple of decent runs over the course of the season to ensure survival, so I certainly wouldn't write us off yet as many seem prepared to do.

Re: West Brom versus MIGHTY CLARETS
I thought we hoofed the ball a lot better in the second half against one of the worst teams I've seen in the PL. McNeil looked like a footballer, it's a shame the other 19 outfield players couldn't try match him. Both keepers looked solid, that's about it. Our so-called midfielders must get neck ache watching the ball fly about 30 foot over their heads for most of the game. Oh for Barton and Defour in midfield to make us look like a football team. That was awful.
Re: West Brom versus MIGHTY CLARETS
West Brom were awful. We were awful.
It’s going to be a long, hard season for the both of us on that showing.

Ha. I'm 40. Since when was that old? And if I'm so old, you won't have a problem stepping away from your keyboard like a frightened man. And you need to remember one thing - and this is important - you were the one to have a pop at me first. Remember that. Because it says everything that is wrong with you. I'm nice to nice people. I don't care who you are, if you're a decent human being to me, I'll be a decent human being to you. Always have, always will.diamondpocket wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 8:56 pmyeah, water off a duck's back mate. I'm pretty chilled. Learnt that from my parents. In the old days when you could go to away matches a travel to the Baggies and coming away with a point would have been a result, happy days.
