Does say Costco, to be fair. Probably just shop owners sticking up given high demand last time around.

It’s the media sensationalism in rags like the Mail that often exacerbate the problem. Very tedious.
Also posting images of people and plastering them on their poxy website for others to get angry at, when nobody knows individual circumstances, is low but hey this is the Mail.

Whilst there are no doubt some selfish idiots around, if you pitch up to Costco on a weekend it would hardly be a surprise to see people buying things like toilet roll in bulk.

I was at Costco a few weeks ago, the queue is basically down the limit they were allowing in the store. Once in there is was the easiest shopping experience, no queue at the tills and no abandoned trolleys blocking the aisles.
As above, that’s the only toilet roll you can buy, big multipacks and in normal times 50% of trolleys include it

Talking of Tesco, their website is dogsh*t. I tried to alter an order the other day and the site kept dropping. It's now doing the same so I can't even book a slot for 2 weeks from now.

Tesco's as gone way downhill. I got thrown out even though i was wearing the most heavy-duty protective face covering of anyone in there. According to security though, my favourite leather gimp mask with the virus-blocking ball-gag in front was "Tremendously upsetting to the other patrons". Get a grip. there's a pandemic going on

The queues seem to be horrendous everywhere now, the range at Blackpool was long, I think it'll start going to whatever number out pairing up with whatever number in again so the stores aren't over congested, usually you've got more allowances & freedom apart from Sundays where things seem to shut at 4pm.

Managed to get an order in for 2 weeks, finally.
Filled the trolley up with 812 toilet rolls.

Re: Shame they don't sell brain cells in Tesco's
Another logic behind this may be just to limit the amount of shops you need to do.
I bought double the amount of baby milk, baby wipes and nappies I need today. Not because I think we will run out. And I have two family members who work at supermarkets so they could always get them. But just saves me making double the visits where I’m exposed to double the risk and double the hassle.

There are definitely shortages. Outdoor dark mahogany varnish and home team goals at Turf Moor.

I hope you managed to stock up on paint so you don't have to break lockdown rules again after Thursday.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 6:23 pmThe queues seem to be horrendous everywhere now, the range at Blackpool was long, I think it'll start going to whatever number out pairing up with whatever number in again so the stores aren't over congested, usually you've got more allowances & freedom apart from Sundays where things seem to shut at 4pm.

Re: Shame they don't sell brain cells in Tesco's
There were fewer delivery slots available at asda yesterday when I was trying to get my usual spot, it was also struggling to accept payment which suggests they were struggling with demand. Last week there were a lot less toilet rolls available.

Re: Shame they don't sell brain cells in Tesco's
The tabloid press were largely responsible for the panic buying last time. They also build people up in order to knock them down and in some cases this has resulted in deaths, but what does it matter as long as they sell newspapers and increase their online advertising revenue.
