Unusual Christmas present ideas?
Itβs that time of year where we are all scratching our heads wondering what to buy our partner, children or family.
Just wondering if you have found unusual (and successful) solutions in previous years?
Any ideas?

Re: Unusual Christmas present ideas?
I would suggest a lot of little presents all connected to something they love , wrapped up in personal wrapping paper .
I have done this for a friend who loves Prosecco and Audrey Hepburn.
Prosecco socks, cocktail book on Prosecco drinks , a get me a Prosecco bell etc . All in an Audrey Hepburn gift bag, all wrapped up in Audrey Hepburn Xmas wrapping paper , personalised with the name of my friend.
Didnβt work out that expensive , a good mix of high street and on line shopping.

Re: Unusual Christmas present ideas?
Present ideas for someone who likes the countryside or who already has everything :-
Donate a sum of money on their behalf, for planting trees in a named woodland.
Buy a smile...... Donation on their behalf towards a child having an reconstructive operation for a harelip.
Buy a toilet.. Donation on their behalf towards a toilet, for an area of the world where sanitation problems cause death or possible physical/sexual abuse.
Buy a gift of water.... Donation on their behalf towards a project to install a stand pipe / bore hole and clean water for an area of the world where a lack of clean water can cause large numbers of diseases or cause women and children to have to walk miles each day for water supplies(often infected)
If you consider how much we take these things for granted in the UK and what our lives would be like without them - we are rich in many ways.

I like your thinking but not sure family would understand if I bought a toilet in their name.chorleyhere wrote: βWed Dec 09, 2020 9:34 pmPresent ideas for someone who likes the countryside or who already has everything :-

Try Not on the high street website for little bits of gifts. Some stuffs a bit shite but you might find someone something a bit different.

Re: Unusual Christmas present ideas?
Because it was looking unlikely that we'd see the grandkids I bought my wife a set of cushions with pictures of the kids printed on the covers so she could hug them and have them over Christmas. Got me loads of Brownie points.

Father once bought my mother a power washer for Christmas. To be fair, the patio was looking a bit drab. Yes they did divorce.

Bought my Dad a toilet pitch n putt game one year. Simple idea. Roll out the green in front of the toilet. It came with a ball and putter. Slightly raised so as to accommodate the hole. Simple. Trousers down on the crapper and putt away. My Mum wasn't best pleased as he spent ages in the WC with that game.

Re: Unusual Christmas present ideas?
Hubby told me last Christmas he was buying me a matching bag and belt, I was super excited.
When I opened them it turned out they were for the Hoover!!
It wasn't a good Christmas, goodness knows what it will be this year.
On a side note, as he was fishing for ideas, he showed me an advert about buying a square foot of land in Scotland, where they would plant a tree, in return you got a certificate pronouncing you were a Lord or a Lady, which you could use, such as booking hotels, flights etc. With the implication you would get preferential treatment/upgrades! We had words about that as a present also but it does fit the unusual Christmas present idea theory

Apparently the most-asked for present from Santa this Christmas is a stab vest.

Re: Unusual Christmas present ideas?
because I wont be seeing Grandkids this xmas I had to come up with something different and as they are animal mad I booked four animal sponsorships
at Knowsley Safari Park. I asked each of them which was their favorite animal and I,ve sponsored a Giraffe, lion, tiger and wolf for them.
