Amazon Prime
Just noticed this is now an app on my sky q box..
I presume that people that have prime would have other devices/apps to already watch but thought I would share in case it helps.

It's to do with the football, Chester mentions it on the magic money thread.

If it's newly appeared on a BT box then it's for the same reason, football as Chester mentions.

Re: Amazon Prime
I'd just come on to post this but saw this thread. I only spotted it by chance late last night but it's a bonus for me because otherwise I would have had to sit at my computer to watch the Villa game and can now watch it on my TV.clarethomer wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:44 pmJust noticed this is now an app on my sky q box..

I am not the most technical. How do I find the Amazon Prime App on Sky Q
Re: Amazon Prime
Are they charging or is it free with Prime?

Re: Amazon Prime
Just go to the Apps section and you will find it there. It's the third one on the top row and the first on the next row too.PensansClaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:46 amI am not the most technical. How do I find the Amazon Prime App on Sky Q
When you go in it will give you instructions to go to amazon.co.uk where you will need to sign in to your Prime account and then add the code on your TV screen. As soon as you enter that screen you will be in Prime on Sky Q.

Thanks ClaretDriver. I’ve just been having a look after I asked the question. Included with Prime, so free.

We've just gone on the Amazon Website and they're offering a 30 day free trial. Rest as CT instructions. Excellent picture and good to see Simon Thomas back.

Re: Amazon Prime
Worth noting that you can nominate a family member to share your prime benefits so if you know someone who has it then they can invite your account to get the benefits too.
My sister is on my account as a beneficiary and she gets prime even when I haven't subscribed for months... So there's a nice possible bug to it too!
Edit* it's also pretty safe to share logins with one or two people.

How does that work? I assume she's at a different address. Can she just order stuff on Prime as if she were a member and pay for stuff herself?superdimitri wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 7:40 am

Yep she's at a different address. It's completely independent and not the same as sharing logins. The beneficiary just uses a separate account.

How far behind was the streaming?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:51 pmNever watched Prime on TV tonight but saw both games tonight and it was fine
The first set of games they did they were over 2 and a half minutes behind live action. I opted for a different stream that was only a minute behind.
I presume they have improved since?

Re: Amazon Prime
All I can tell you is that a friend of mine phoned and he had SSN news on and when they were talking to Sue Smith, who was covering it, the clock on SSN was just three seconds in front of what I was watching on Prime via Sky Q.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 4:05 pmHow far behind was the streaming?

I was quite surprised that one of the worlds leading streaming sites had such a delay but glad it's been sorted.

Re: Amazon Prime
The good thing about streaming the games on Prime is that you can “watch from the beginning” if you come in partway way through the game (or at least you could during the restart)

Just signed up for this malarkey, evidently you can't get this on an LG tv, is that correct ?
Got it on pc but won't load on the tv.

Re: Amazon Prime
If you've got a smart TV it should be on there? Or failing that a sky q or BT box? If you have none of those 3 then I don't think you'll be able to get it on your tv.
Re: Amazon Prime
I hadn't registered the tv as a new device, all sorted now.

My stream is absolutely terrible on Amazon prime, I don’t know about anybody else’s? Commentary is often ahead of the picture, and has been buffering on the odd occasion .

Mine is and always has been fine - whatever I watch through (Smart TV, Apple TV and now SKY Q). That said, in terms of picture and motion quality, it certainly isn’t up to the standard of SKY.
Re: Amazon Prime
Better than B T for me in terms of picture quality. Very stable.

I am streaming directly through Amazon , I tried it through my fire stick which was useless, then I used an Xbox app, which is much better but not the best quality in all honesty.

Re: Amazon Prime
My Liverpool stream on new LG 4k TV is in theory in UHD whereas the other two games are in HD. The Liverpool game is now failing to load and the others are fine. I can’t see the option to switch bitrate. I have 42mbps internet speed, testing on the ipad.
At least we are in normal HD tomorrow, just in case.
