I think so and possibly Arsenal’s Bob McNab on the left.

Bloody belting forwards Bob Latchford was a Billy Hamilton type and Anby King was very similar to how Adrian Heath (who replaced him at Goodison) type forward. My second team at the time. They were great to watch as a kidTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 11:04 pmFar right looks like Neville Southall but guess this would be before his time? It's before mine, I hadn't even turned 1!

I was on that train and I recognise the name printed at the top of the ticket. Great day out apart from the match.

No. I stopped doing them after my collector phoned me to say I had missed two kisses off. He told me he’d put them on Liverpool v Sunderland and the top team in league 2 v donkeys. I went ballistic, to the wife not him, and they were the only two draws on my line. Never again.

I was also on that train. If my memory serves me correctly we were also due to go to Cardiff on the League Liner later that season but for some reason it was cancelled.
Steve I remember Alison Crowther very well, she also had a brother who used to follow the Clarets. She did indeed marry Gerry Peyton the Burnley goalkeeper at the time.
I have read on here that you are originally from Rawtenstall Steve, we are a similar age, maybe we used to know each other?

Only went in the Queens very, very occasionally. Used to drink in the Jester or the White Lion.
Robert Davies doesn't ring a bell from school so maybe we never crossed paths.
When I played with Carr United the manager was a bloke called Ken Trickett who also lived in Crawshawbooth.
So you now live in a small place in Scotland?

Those names bring back memories, although I only played with Chris Woods of the three.
I was on the Turf that night when we battered East Fife 7-0.

A good few years back I used to know a Scottish bloke who came to live in Lancs because of his job, but after a number of years here he returned to Scotland and we kept in touch for a while. He'd moved to Cupar and for something to do he'd been to watch East Fife about 3 times. Next news as a "regular" he was approached to join the board, somewhat reluctantly accepted and was travelling home and away on the team bus!! So be very, very careful Steve!!

That’s Andy Lochhead on the deck after the number 5 had tried to guillotine him. Came down on his neck with both feet. The evil basturd. 3-0 and knocking them out in Napoli was sweet.
Casper’s winner was a fantastic night. We knew we had a good team and they’d won at SheffU ,first up, but that Tuesday night they all turned up.

The stench in the back of a Transit van with about 14 fans crammed in and no seats on an "overnighter' to somewhere like Exeter or Colchester is something that will stay with me forever Good times, aching bones.

Steve, that's going to be our Boxing Day defeat at Brunton Park in 1980. The Carlisle number 10 is Peter Beardsley scoring one of their goals and our players are Dobbo and David Holt.

Re: Football in Pictures
That's a good question Steve.......There were several near misses, notably in the '73/'74 & '74/'75 seasons, but I think the only season they featured together in the first team was '79/'80 after Dobbo had returned from Everton. 20 League games, 1 FA Cup and 2 League Cup that season.

Re: Football in Pictures
Dobson was in the Burnley side when Ian Brennan made his debut at Stoke in April 1974. It was his only game that season. Brennan's next league appearance was as Dobbo's replacement when he was sold to Everton. Peter Noble moved from right-back to midfield to replace Dobbo, Keith Newton moved from left-back to right-back to replace Noble and Brennan came in at left-back.

If this is a ref to the "Leeds team of internationals" pic, there's an alternative online with the same set-up but Hunter and Charlton added on the right as you look. My wife selected 8 Score Draws in the late 1980's but it was a poor week with about 11 draws.
We got £980 ish, a decent amount but not the fortune we thought we were in for. Good news it was mid December so we had a great Christmas.

That’s better a full team and a substitute
