Before the start of today's game, the camera zoomed in on a gent wearing a BFC mask. I am sure it was not MG. Any one noticed/recognised him?
Didn’t see that, I’ll have a look back.

He was in the stands not on the bench where I would expect the kit man to be.

I’ve just watched it back from just before the teams came out to kick off and didn’t see anyone with a BFC mask.

I've got to know Andy Jones (The Athletic) well over the past year but I also know Chris Boden well and have done for years. Sadly it is a clickbait company and that's what our local newspapers have become sadly. The Burnley Express has been a brilliant resource for me over the years and I go back all the way to Keith McNee in the 1960s through Peter Higgs, Granville Shackleton, Edward Lee and Chris, all of them very helpful to me.
Eddie Lee is a human computer when it comes to facts and figures 😄

I remember something he said to me a few years ago. The club had announced that Robbie Blake had scored his 50th league goal but my records suggested he was still on 49. Edward agreed with me.

He said that we had a duty to get the facts right, otherwise incorrect facts become correct.

He had one from York on Boxing Day 1998. One of our goals remains incorrectly credited to Andy Payton but was scored by Gordon Armstrong. Mine was in 2002 and a Kevin Ball goal against Gillingham going to Ian Moore. The incorrect info is now in the record books and presumed correct.

We are both very similar in terms of facts & figures. He’s a good bloke, a great help to me. Not seen him in ages.

Kit Man is a pretty American-sounding name, could he be involved with the takeover?

Latest from Simon Evans on Twitter in the last 5 mins......

Burnley takeover latest: the American investors and the club are working through the holiday period to conclude the remaining steps. ALK confident that takeover can be completed in time for the January transfer window.

Simon on Twitter,
I understand ALK are still pushing for a meeting with Seaan Dyche to discuss jan transfer targets and plans,Club owners have not allowed this yet.

Shocking, if true.

There reaches a point in these things where you have to start succession planning and allowing these discussions to take place. Either it’s not as close as we think or the club are being unreasonable. If we’re left unprepared due to this, the blame still lies with Garlick & co.

Dyche has always said give me a budget so I know which pond I'm fishing in, rather than give me a whacking £100m war chest. if I was a betting man, I would bet he knows what that budget is already.

We'll know if things are going to be different after the takeover, if we sign someone before the last ten minutes of the window. :D

Quite honestly though, I don't know what's taking so long. The takeover doesn't even seem to have got FA approval yet.

It doesn’t need approval from the FA. From what I believe it has been approved in principle by the Premier League and is just awaiting final paper work for it to be signed off.

I suppose it’s a bit like selling your house. You’ve agreed a price, it’s with the solicitors but do you let the buyers in to measure up for curtains?

I think you try and help the new buyers as best you can. You want to maintain goodwill and ultimately you want the deal done.

That’s how I would do it and I’d like to think that’s how I’d be treated if I was moving house. I know this is a lot bigger transaction involving far more people but you would like to think that one of the key members of staff would get the potential support he needs, particularly just ahead of a window.

Quite honestly, I have no idea who is in charge of football these days Tony. PL, FA or Mickey Mouse. Quite honestly it's a farce these days, just like the laws of the game and VAR. Time we went back to how the rules worked in the 60s or 70s. Everyone knew the laws of the game and who was in charge of them.

It’s pretty simple with ownership, it’s the league you play in. The FA govern the whole game but the Premier League have to ensure their clubs are fit and proper. Their owners & directors test has become very thorough.

Absolutely I would Tony. It’s common courtesy, especially when a buyer is willing to give you £200m for an asset you clearly want to sell.

So what's the situation if a club gets relegated from, or promoted to, the PL. Does the club then have go through the procedure again? I guess they just accept what the other league has said, but it was a lot easier all round when the FA and Football League were in charge. The laws of the game were certainly a lot easier to understand.

That’s been one of the problems. The Football League are not as thorough but if a Championship club changed ownership and were cleared by the league and then won promotion to the Premier League they would be ok, just as our directors were when we won promotion. In effect the Premier League have to let them in.

The differences were shown last time Hull were in the Premier League. Potential new owners failed the test but they then went and bought Reading as they got through the Football League test.

I think the Premier League have learned a lot on this and I’d trust them not to let in new owners if they weren’t suitable.

Thanks for the responses but my biggest gripe is the laws of the game and their modern interpretations. The law was crystal clear before TV, FIFA and the PL got involved with them.

Anyway, this is going 'Off topic' so I'll leave it there.

The PL don’t get involved with the laws. All down to IFAB. Law changes affect the game world wide. As for interpretation, I do think PGMOL have a lot to answer for, particularly with VAR although their hands are tied with the nonsensical armpit offsides.

The PL don’t get involved with the laws. All down to IFAB. Law changes affect the game world wide. As for interpretation, I do think PGMOL have a lot to answer for, particularly with VAR although their hands are tied with the nonsensical armpit offsides.
Well IFAB have been around for more than 100 years without creating problems, so I think they must have been infiltrated by TV and the PL in recent years. Otherwise, why change things that have worked so well, for so long? It doesn't make sense.

We all know that TV loves controversy in the game and had been lobbying for technology for years before VAR was introduced. Maybe they got someone on the IFAB board? As for the PL, well maybe they don't want their Prima Donnas to get hurt, so they have lobbied to make it a no contact sport? Blimey, there's more contact in Basketball these days, and that's supposed to be a no contact game.

Could well be related to Our take over, A Executive Jet a Gulfstream 450 is due in Manchester Airport at 0812 (Tuesday) from Teterbro (Executive Airport in New Jersey, New York) were ALK Capital are based , Can be tracked on the app Flightradar24 N425QS operated by Net Jets (The Uber of the skys).

Like I say it could not be related to Burnley FC, but the timings with the take over seem to be a coincidence.

IFAB has very definitely not been around that long and they don't have involvement from TV or the PL.

I think it might be coincidence but maybe there could be American visitors for a game at the Turf some time very soon.
