Nonsense tbf, just because someone tests positive it doesn’t mean they’ve not followed guidelines. Not to mention the guidelines are rubbish too, no meeting others but you can cram 500 kids into one school, makes sense Boris.
Schools should be the first place closed given the size and little toddlers don’t even know what social distancing means. We can’t social distance inside an open roof football stadium but you can cram into shops.
You could enter pubs and restaurants but only until 10pm was one of my personal favourites, like COVID only appears after 10pm. The whole thing is rubbish and has been handled so poorly from the very top.
Schools should be the one place that remain open. It was a farce they shut for months on end last year.
Shops are essential, watching football isn’t.
Pubs and restaurants were told to shut by 10pm didn’t mean Covid didn’t come out before that time. It’s restricting chances of the virus being passed on whilst trying to help business be run like normal.
There’s far too many people interpreting the rules to mean whatever they want.
I think the juvenile nature of your post, shows how important education is.

I'm not sure the Serbian players were 'partying', more a family atmosphere, against the rules but not in the same category.

It would be interesting to see which team had most players unavailable for this game, Burnley or Fulham.

So we are closing pubs at 10pm to restrict the virus but allowing 500+ kids to cram into schools, likely the worst place with the highest rate of infection.
I remember the previous guidelines of not meeting anyone outside from different households but you were still allowed to go house to house if you were a childminder.

As frustrating as another game in hand is, the main priority ofcourse has to be that people's health and safety is put first - despite our frustrations.
The only thing I do wonder, is if Fulham have had to prove they've had positive tests - it wouldn't be wholly unexpected if false positive tests have been submitted to delay the fixtures until they've had time to strengthen their squad in the transfer window.

In fairness to Fulham, the party rumours are just that. And most of the players with Covid will be asymptomatic enough that they could have played, but the rules state that they can't. If our players had done nothing wrong, but Mee, Pope, Tarks, and 3 or 4 others were all out with Covid, I'm sure we would want the game postponing too...

Another case of the wrong people getting punished for the actions of those selfish people that cannot listen
Until these people or clubs get tougher sanctions their players continue to do as the please.
They should be made to play with a depleted squad, we had 13 fit players for 1 game this season...

Just how stupid do players have to be? There is a bloody pandemic ruining peoples lives and these, very, very privileged guys, can't follow some simple rules. If these photo's are legit then they should be seriously punished.

Oh I agree it looks damning, and if the case then forfeiting would seem like the only option. But I've seen too many stories on social media be absolute nonsense to assume its all true just yet

Nail on the head MACCA, if that's what it takes to ram home the message then so be it, if Fulham can assemble a squad of 13/14 players and it's safe for them to do so, then they should be made to fulfil their fixtures, credit to Sheff Utd they were depleted the other night, but they didn't cry off.
An automatic 3-0 win for the opposition in the event of a club being unable to fulfil a fixture might sharpen minds somewhat, as it stands Fulham have got what they desired with the game being deferred, despite the problem being of their own making,
The only issue with this scenario is that clubs might be tempted to conceal any positive cases, and that's the last thing anybody wants.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if one of our players has broken the rules over this festive period. It’s not fair that the whole club is punished by forfeiting for the selfish actions of a player or two. The players in question should be punished and face a ban.
The appropriate action would be to play the game with the players available, but I presume the reasoning behind this is the risk of players not testing positive who are carrying the virus?!

Clearly Mitrovic has broken the rules, but unless we find out he has a positive test or has been identified as a close contact we have nothing but the unsubstantiated Kyle Walker rumour to suggest that this could be anyone at Fulham's fault. Lots of assumptions and anger here with little to actually support it so far.

Surely these tests are carried out and recorded independently? (If not then it's open to all kinds of abuse)

Its sad that they can still muster a squad thats about on par with the size our current fit squad yet the League allow them to call it off. Its disappointing, but feel a little better seeing a penalty awarded to Leeds, and then go 2-0 down too
Hopefully when we do play Fulham we will have Jack, Jay, Charlie, JBG and maybe the odd new player available

The disappointing thing is that we should be playing this game when on a really good run of form and a chance to put a huge amount of daylight between us and the bottom three. As it stands we will now have a fixture backlog and may face a stronger, and more in form Fulham side at a later date.

& people don’t go to off licences & mingle indoors, stopping the sale of alcohol before a certain time or closing the pubs hasn’t made a difference, if people want to socialise & get drunk at the same time you don’t need the pub, turning the country into a nanny state & curtailing people’s right to freedom isn’t the answer & never will be.

I think it might be fairer for the club at fault to have an automatic 3 point deduction but the game still gets replayed, with the opportunity for the ‘at fault’ club to claw back the deduced points by winning or the opposition to gain 3 points as they may have done had the match been originally played.

I would think nothing can be done now, mid-season. If the PL, like Super League had agreed rules at the start of the season, then they could take the appropriate action but trying to create new rules now is impossible.

Unfortunately, I have to agree it would be difficult to implement now and I suspect nothing will change. However, the problem with the current situation is that you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t. If you have a deterrent then clubs may underreport genuine positive cases in order to ensure they play fixtures, thus risking further spread of the virus. However, if you have a situation (as we do now) where a certain number of positive tests leads to cancellation then you may get unscrupulous clubs over reporting when they have injury problems so they can delay the fixture. This is made even more possible due to the false positive rate on testing, which basically means if you do enough tests you will record positive cases regardless of whether they are genuine or not. So manipulation is possible. Ultimately, there is no easy solution.

Blessing in disguise really to sort injuries
Now put plenty of fringe players on the pitch against MKD
Our next run of six league games will test even our strongest squad

Maybe true, maybe not. We have been in good form but we have quite a few players out and / or carrying knocks, so it's possible that this might have been one match "too many" at this point. (Who knows?)
We don't know what sort of team Fulham would have been able to put out. But Fulham have been in very good form this past month, and could / should really should have turned a couple of their good draws into wins. (Liverpool being a case in point).
Had Fulham not had this covid issue, (partially self-inflicted or not), they would have fancied beating a weakened Burnley side - I think.
On balance I think that the time-out will help us.

The PL have hit the post on this. Rugby League said if you can't play the game, you lose 22-0. Maybe if the PL had said something similar, clubs would have been more vigilant on player movements.
If we were awarded the game against Fulham 22-0 that would make our goal difference positive !!

If it had come from rival fans, it would be funny. He's supposed to be a pundit and professional, that comment wasn't.
Lighten up, it was a harmless joke about two sides who score less than a goal a game. And his twitter account is personal and isn't related to his profession.

Only selfish people with no regard for others who ignored the rules.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if one of our players has broken the rules over this festive period.
And on just what basis have you said that?

Half the people don’t even know what the rules are, tier 3 tier 4 it makes no sense to some people & distinguishing the differences are an alien concept, people are far too busy & just can’t be arsed to understand, right or wrong that’s just the way things are.

Large numbers of false positives is a myth
It doesn’t have to be large if you do enough tests

On the basis that out of 22 players I wouldn't be surprised if one of them has broken the rules over the festive period.
