Is the pitch generally heated in sub-zero conditions to prevent the ground from freezing, or is it just in preparation for matches?

Think they just try to keep the grass growing all year

Awesome footage by the way, and like others have said you couldn’t pay me to go up in a little helicopter in this weather

Great pictures (especially when the green comes into proper view), takes a while to work everything out when all that white stuff is about. I can just spot the street I was born and brought up in the the very bottom corner in the first second of that film.

That isn't pitch heaters but rather the ultra violet lighting arrays that green the grass and encourage it to grow. Not sure if they are still the 2nd hand ones we bought off Man City.

Alan Pace and his colleagues will love this film. Look at the "sunshine and warmth" they've brought to Turf Moor.

Exciting times.

I take it tier 4 doesn’t apply if you own a helicopter.......

Shocking, you can count the number of roads gritted in the entire clip on one hand.

I wonder if he flew over Pendle? The natives wouldn't like the down draft of snow flying about.

He'd surely find a parking space in Barley in that?

Brilliant stuff, love the view.

My last helicopter flight was 1995 in a Luftwaffe Bell UH-1 Iroquois or 'Huey' in Northern Norway.

I was a great fan of helicopter flights during my Army career. Wish I could afford to whizz around in one now, or personally knew someone with a Helicopter :D
