Re: what would your league look like ?
There’s a few sides in the league I believe are on par with us for football, they’re not getting the results like we do though. I’m not sure we are the worst to watch, we certainly can be at times but I can’t watch anybody else, I don’t enjoy watching football anymore unless it’s us or amateur football

probably not so far off what I would say - interesting that Villa are at your top, but for a dodgy goaline technology error they would be in the Championship !! As for Claret tony , you should welcome people trying to make an effort to the board . Your so distant with new posters it’s unhealthy.
Relax and realise people have their own thoughts. It’s not a dig at all. It’s a genuine question that I’m interested in genuine replies .
If I was a mod I would have deleted “ it’s a dig” comment but no , chief moderator actually “likes” it
The board is just one big clique with old funny duddies.
I posted the other day with a selection of players that we could improve our first team with for under 20 million .. post deleted . Yet today the “clique” mention the same players , to a round of “ slap on the backs”
If your going to moderate realise there are people trying to make an effort

Re: what would your league look like ?
It's a stupid thread because you are asking Burnley fans - what would your league look like based on the football you'd like to watch. You can't do untinted if you've been a fan (of any club) for more than 5 minutes and you're up to your neck in that club.Untinted Glasses wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:25 pmNo actually my reply was before I so that . Most 'Burnley fans' want to watch the football that Burnley play, hence the 'Burnley fans' bit.
You put Burnley at the bottom, and that's why you aren't being taken seriously.
If you start a thread asking say..... which other teams in the Premier League do you like watching for their football, you may get somewhere.

Perhaps, a better approach might have been to ask who people would enjoy watching, based on their style of play, so far this season?

Re: what would your league look like ?
English has always evolved – that’s what it means to be a living language – and now the internet plays a pivotal role in driving this evolution. It’s where we talk most freely and naturally, and where we generally pay little heed to whether or not our grammar is “correct”.
Should we be concerned that, as a consequence, English is deteriorating? it is changing at such a fast pace that older generations can’t keep up
Re: what would your league look like ?
It's not bad grammar. It's just plain wrong. "Your" is one word. "You're" is two different ones joined up.Untinted Glasses wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 11:26 pmEnglish has always evolved – that’s what it means to be a living language – and now the internet plays a pivotal role in driving this evolution. nonsense, it's a thread that's actually more about what people like to see and is actually footy related - seems unnecessary to turn it into something it clearly isn't intended to be imho, not everything and everyone has an agenda

I don't watch enough other teams, but if I did I'd put Burnley top to watch in defence and close to bottom in attack. I'm amazed by how we defend, but also amazed how inept we look in attack.
Of course there are exceptions, we looked pretty good attacking at Leeds and Palace recently but that's just 90 mins of football. I'm looking forward to us working on attacking teams better and hopefully scoring more goals if we can get some new faces in.

Yup, we've always been a team who relies a lot on individuals when going forward and we need to get a bit less predicable. At the same time though it's hard to find players with more pace who also work hard in defence. But even so, having someone rubbish in defence just to bring on when we're chasing a game would really help. A bit like Traore at Wolves.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 7:05 amI think we are a couple of good pacey players away from being a total nightmare to play against for most teams

Re: what would your league look like ?
As I’ve got older I’ve become less snobby about the type of football I allow the media to tell me I’m supposed to prefer.
I watch a match and admire two strategies on show. Sometimes they’re alike, which I actually find a bit boring at times, and sometimes they’re wildly different, such as when Burnley play a team in the top 6. I prefer a more gung-ho, with quality, Liverpool over the yawn fest but supposedly “beautiful” Man City, for example.
If you take off the tinted specs the media tell you to wear you might find it more interesting just seeing which strategy in play wins out. It is about winning a game after all.
I’m not telling you that you have to change, it’s up to you. I’ve just noticed a change in my own perceptions.

Re: what would your league look like ?
I was having a think about this and I guess it’s like any sport, take cricket for example.. Boycott could tap around for 2-3 days and score a hundred, some thought it was fantastic and I agree but a lot also think it’s boring to watch. You can now have someone like Stokes who can score 100 in a session and again this is unbelievable but some prefer one to the other
