Can anyone agreeing that’s not a red explain why, please?
Deliberate hand ball, Wood through on goal, no cover?

How’s it a clear red card when Wood pushes him?

Give Dyche the red card. Another embarrassing limp out of the cup to a crap team

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
it's astounding how some of you think that's a red card and not a foul by Wood.
Anyway, get Benson and Vydra on then meet with Pace after the game and ask nicely for some better players

Seems that way. Wood did nudge him, but never a foul. Should have been our freekick at the very minimum.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
It was definitely not a red card but not sure how it was a foul by Wood. It’s better when the ref goes and looks at the screen though.
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Difficult decision, could easily go either way. Did Wood really foul him? Seems used strength and Keogh misjudged flight of ball. Oh well.
We need to seriously improve in second half, awful for 25 minutes. Would certainly get Vydra on but for who? Both Wood and Barnes are woefully out of form.

Of course Wood fouled Keogh , you can see he pulled his arm . Hopefully 2nd half we take our chances .

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
because Wood fouled him, I was amazed Moss didn't give it as a foul from the start. Impossible that that is a red card, glad they got it right in the endjedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:52 pmCan anyone agreeing that’s not a red explain why, please?

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
It was given as a free kick to them as it was the push by Wood that made him handball it
Not saying this is correct, but it is the reason

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
That performance from our attackers just reinforces my view that we need a proper striker in this window. Both would have known this week they were odds on to start. Josh King is on Bournemouths bench most games-thats the type of player we need to keep Wood, Barnes and Rodriguez on their toes
We should have buried this game by now

Just one observation from that,we are playing with 10 men.....Dale Stephens is master at hiding on a football field

Sure is needs to concentrate more on his finishing than fouling

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
I'm baffled.
I was amazed when the red card came out but there is absolutely no doubt that it was a free kick to us. Where on earth does he get a free kick from for them?

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Good old VAR..
Shows the offence to ref from the poorest angle.
As soon as it's overturned we are punished again by being shown the blatant hand ball from forward facing camera.
Shocking.

So it goes from a red card for MK Dons and a free kick to Burnley to no red card and a free kick to MK Dons, how does that work?

If we could finish we'd be strolling this. MK did a brilliant impression of a pub team from up Towneley up until they scored and suddenly they're passing it round like bloody Barca! Is it me or is Lewington a bit "weighty" and would actually look totally at home playing up Towneley!?

Barnes’ was never a penalty, the keeper got the ball. It was just dreadful from Barnes.

Because it would have been Chris Wood going clear through on goal, therefore not a clear goal scoring opportunityjedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:52 pmCan anyone agreeing that’s not a red explain why, please?

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
At least it's entertaining from a comical viewpoint. I'm watching without sound so I can make up my own mind as to things and not be influenced by any prat of a commentator. Once Moss went to the screen I knew he would rescind the red. I still can't figure out why Barnes didn't win a penalty when the keeper tapped his ankles early on. Weird. But it's the Moss show and he will be the star.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
So, it was no pen for the trip on Barnes but a slight touch from Wood is enough to rescind a red. Don't know why we even think VAR will ever be any use.
Stephens having a poor game to date and none of JBG, Brady, Pieters or Bardsley, Barnes and Wood doing much to show why they warrant a 1st team place. As someone said earlier you cannot jog along playing at 90% and expect to win any game. Some good breaks and we probably should have scored 3 or 4 but all credit to the goalie for couple of good saves and then some poor finishing

One plus from Barnes so far
He has managed to stay on his feet rather than his arse

Why does it matter? Its the same for both teams playing. Should all FA Cup games be played on the same pitch with the same officials? I hate VAR, but if the FA's concensus is that it makes things fairer, then why not use it when its available? Using it today at the Turf makes no difference whatsoever to any other FA Cup 3rd round tieUntinted Glasses wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:50 pmVAR shouldntbe used the FA cup if it isn't used at all games any way. Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Is Dyche just going to keep playing Wood till he gets his confidence back or are we going to try and win the game by at least giving Vydra a chance, if he doesn`t come on at the start of the second half then to me it says more about Dyche and his attitude to cup games.
