So you presumably missed all the saves that their keeper made!
Let’s be honest leisure, I can think of three saves there keeper made none of which were particularly amazing saves.

We created some decent chances but the poster is right we struggled to break down a very poor league 1 team

Surely we must have broken them down on a fair few occasions with all the chances we either missed or the keeper saved.

Norris 8 (Looked confident and composed, kicking was good and he's good on pens too!)
Bards 6 ("Won" the free kick which salvaged the game!)
Tarks 7
Mee 8
Pieters 7
Stephens 6
Cork 5 (Way, way off it, but tbf he's been out a long while)
JBG 6
Brady 7 (Decent first half, but faded badly. He's very consistent with his direct free kicks  ....unfortunately!!y)
Wood 5 (Looking garbage at present and that was against a poor lower league defence. At least one dreadful miss)
Banes 6 (Looked good early on, but another who faded away and struggled to get any change out of a poor defence)

Vydra 7
Benson 6
Lowton 5
Mumbongo 7 (Looked raw, but willing, eager, pacey and a handful and having been brought up at City, he won't be crap!)
Glennon 7

First 25 minutes we were strolling around like a training match, looked pretty good and were absolutely dominant, but a goal from nowhere changed the game and they suddenly started to play a bit and we just went to pieces. Second half we were utterly woeful and looked every inch the league one team. We still had guilt edged chances in both halves which we squandered and were so, so lucky not to pay the price. Our subs made a difference and those changes are probably what ultimately got us over the line. So, City away next up!

Scrolling through the above, I think only three posters gave Wood more than 4, and all of those were 5s. Personally, I think he was lucky not to get minus marks, although one poster did give him a 2.

It's not like it's only one game. He's been *hite for most of the season.

Please Sean, don't play him on Tuesday.

Norris 8 without his two penalty saves Burnley don't progress
Bardsley 6 did his job and bought the free kick that lead to the goal, put one on a plate for Wood
Tarkowski 4 Champions League - you're having a laugh, got done by a third division forward for the the goal, his distribution was abysmal and missed from six inches
Mee 6 flat footed for the goal
Pieters 5 Ragged at times
JBG 6 Got some decent crosses in and looked lively in first half
Stephens 6 thought he had a decent game
Cork 6 looked good when we were on top in the first half, but faded in second
Brady 6 some decent crosses but always seems to want to take too many touches
Wood 4 well, the best you can say is he got in the positions to miss some chances
Barnes 5 some decent link up play but should have scored at least one

Benson 6 tidy enough
Vydra 6 one point for goal, one off for penalty miss, has a knack of finding space in the area.
Mumbongo7 put himself about for the goal and some decent hold up play
Glennon 7 thought he looked lively but his end product not quite sharp enough
Lowton 6 not sure where he was playing but got involved a fair bit

Nope, saw 2 maybe 3 good saves ( as many as Pope usually makes in a regular premier league game )

Norris also made 1 excellent block at 0-1.

It was hardly prolonged pressure where we regularly cut them open or created many golden chances, this game was against a relegation threatened league 1 side.

Can't believe the low scores as it was a far better watch on radio Lancashire

Had a waiter today, only other reason is maybe I nodded off.

Tarky, Brady and Barnes failed to even hit the target on what I thought were 3 guilt edge chances

Bardsley 6
Tarkowski 6
Mee 6
Pieters 6

Stephens 3 well we've found his level and its below league one standard. Dreadful
Cork 5 I'll cut Jack some slack after the amount of time he's had out, but there were more miss placed paces than the worst ever contestant on Mastermind
Brady 6
Wood 3 head like a Sheriffs badge, I'll never understand why pundits think he's dangerous in the air
Barnes 3 the early miss set the tone

Benson 6
Vydra 6
Mumbongo 7
Glennon 7
Lowton 6

Well we're through, that's it

I’ll help you out with that - over the past two seasons Chris Wood scored more headed goals than any other Premier League player.

The players who were returning from injury and lacked minutes looked a bit rusty, which was to be expected. Yesterday will have done them good.

What's really alarming is the form of our front two which has completely gone off a cliff.

Good to see the youngsters getting a bit of game time.

Mumbongo did more in the few mins he was on than wood and Barnes put together in rest game.

Can I give everyone a 3 and our keeper a 4 that was embarrassing against a team some wouldn't get a game on Sunday morning on the Prairie

After the hysteria...I know it is all about opinion, but there are some really stupid posts, marks and comments on here. Some people have such vitriol about our players, perhaps they should set up a ‘Down the Clarets” fansite?

Anyway – I thought it was a very entertaining game which we dominated right from the start, but couldn’t hit the back of the net…it happens sometimes.

The positives were; it was good to see Cork back and I thought his partnership with Stephens looked good. We created many good chances. The youngsters all did very well and got some great experience. And as OGS said at Man U – ‘you just have to get through’ and we did!

Norris 7 – Not a lot to do. A good save in the second half and did very well with the penalties
Bardsley 6 – looked a bit rusty, good penalty – we do need replacement right backs
Tarkowski 7 – Not really troubled. Managed to miss when it was easier to score
Mee 7 – In control for the most part – got lost for the MK goal?
Pieters 6 – Did ok – doesn’t provide the attacking option which Taylor does, but he’s a good reliable pro
Gudmundsson 6 – feeling his way back. He will get better. I’d like to see him take on full backs more often
Cork 7 – started very brightly and drove us forward instead of his sometime sideways approach – faded second half, understandably
Stephens 7 – I thought he had good game. Put his foot on the ball in midfield. Could have won it late on. Very good penalty
Brady 7 – good effort. His set pieces from outside the box were poor. Could have more determination to score, but some good crosses and moved the ball quickly.
Wood 5 – Just not happening for Woody. A good shot, but a couple of really poor headers.
Barnes 5 – See Woody. Should definitely have scored 1:1 on the keeper. That might have settled us down. I think he might be better used as an impact sub.

Benson 7 – did well replacing Cork – does play a bit deep at times
Vydra 7 – looked pretty lively and must be worth a start given the issues we are having finding the back of the net. He has a much better first touch than Wood and Barnes. Great determination for the goal. Poor penalty however.
Mumbongo 7 – did very well. Could have scored and set up the equaliser. Good experience for him
Glennon 6 – looked to try to play and take people on
Lowton 5 – gave the ball away immediately after coming on, which nearly cost us. Not sure what his role was? Good penalty however.

MK had nothing to lose really, so no real pressure on them. They had 3 real chances, one hit the post, one was well saved by Norris and they scored the other. We should have been out of sight by half time.

On to the next round and Man U on Tuesday UTC!

Well at least we are in the next round and some of the lads got run outs. Quite impressed with the young ones. If the strikers had done their jobs, it would have been all over at half time.
