Atack's mum was in the audience BC, trying not to cringe, have you seen the programme?
Nope ... I was waiting to see the reaction on here and gauge who likes and dislikes
... using UTC as an opinion poll ... if certain posters recommend it, I watch, and if others do, I avoid like the plague ...
have just about attuned myself to who watches and enjoys what, and thats good enough for me
Also the ad for "The Emily Atack Show" was enough to tell me I wouldn't be bothering

CJ used to be quite funny the one i watched the other night was on late, probably to avoid children viewing it,unfortunately the humour was extremely childish another programme thats lost its way and like you said lots of non celebrity "celebrities" on it, terrible tv.

Leigh Francis (Keith Lemon et al) has to be one of the unfunniest people on TV after Ricky Gervais

Agree. Random fact, he was spotted by Davina McCall, so we have her to thank. Not watched CJ for a few years, as it seemed to attract the talentless.

I've never understood the appeal of The Royle Family, I caught an episode about 10 years ago, and as I'd never seen it I thought I'd give it a whirl to see what all the fuss was about, after 5 minutes I had to turn it off, for a supposedly comical show it's as dull as dishwater, Christ folks want comedy to cheer them up not send them into depression.
Keith Lemon was OK at the beginning, but now all his patter is old hat, as is the CJ format, I'm not surprised Fearne and Hollie jumped ship.

Whilst everyone is allowed an opinion normally I will have to make an exception in your case - Ricky Gervais is a genius - FACT.

I suppose this means that we can never determine which are the worst shows of all time.
For what it's worth, I thought the Royle Family was, as jrgbfc, says, genius. Brilliantly written and brilliantly played. Not sure how tiger76 could judge it though on five minutes. Five minutes my arse.

The number of bad TV shows is far to long for me to list.
Having read this thread there are many shows that I haven't seen and many more that I haven't even heard of.
It just goes to show how different people are.
One show I do like and feel guilty about is Inbetweeners.
It's just not like me to watch a TV show like that but I burst out laughing every time

Mrs Brown's Boys is the Gold standard for abysmal TV but I also agree with you..these programmes just seem to celebrate stupidity to me and I find them depressing to contemplate.
Anything with tubthumper Gemma fking Collins in it!
This ugly, useless, orange, talent free Moby Dick tribute act actually stated,"I'm bigger than the Beatles." Well yes, for sheer weight she will be but that's all.
These ‘reality’ TV shows (which by the way are so far from actual reality I can’t understand how they’re allowed this title) are possibly the worst fabrication of human endeavour.
Reality TV star is now a job title it seems.

People will always have different tastes in any genre, I caught up on the Inbetweeners over Christmas, when they replayed the TV series, and also the 2 films, the TV show still makes me laugh, as does the 1st film set in Greece, the 2nd offering set in Oz not so much as they moved away from the regular formula and characters.

Somebody texted me to bring this to my attention...
Still Game has to be one of the most consistently funny tv comedies ever made. It’s up there with Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, porridge and only fools. In fact, it’s ball bouncingly funny.
It’s predecessor, ‘chewing the fat’ was Scotland’s answer to the fast show, and very good that was too.
Go on, give it a watch.... it really is quite superb.

You are spot on about Still Game, the writing and acting is first class, Chewing The Fat is hit and miss, some of the sketches are LOL funny, well others don't hit the mark with me, but by and large there's more hits than misses in it, Rab C Nesbitt is another great Scottish comedy from the archives.

If Patrick and Daniel are both on the TV at the same time... then I have to raise my cap. That is purpose marketing down to a tee. They know McGuiness is one of the most talentless human beings on the planet.

top gear.
not just the more recent ones either. the entire show from day one to the present.
When Clarkson did it, it became less about cars and the mechanics as time went on. Which is why it became the most popular show in the world. Since the brain cells took over, the audience has nose-dived. I wonder why!

There can only be one winner in this and that is Pooch Perfect WTF!!
I know lockdown has dragged TV to a lot of lows recently, mainly involving Michael Mcintyre, but surely nothing could be as bad as this!!

100% correct!

Doesn't sound quite so stupid now, given the way TV has gone!
