It would be pretty remarkable if we did. There is always a reporter that posts something before. I can’t think of any transfer in last five years where a reporter hasn’t broke the story before we signed someoneDanieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:32 pmTransfer coming in to the club tomorrow, reason for presser being pushed back.

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Extremely disappointing if we get Deeney, how much more one dimensional can we get? Complete opposite of what we require especially if Vydra is leaving. An Eddie Nketiah type is what we need.

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Would it be too much to ask for a Sibley and Knight double from Derby?

If this is from the same source as the takeover announcement we should hear something Thursday next week thenDanieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:32 pmTransfer coming in to the club tomorrow, reason for presser being pushed back.

Would it be too much to ask that the post on a new signing is actually true?

Could be nonsense mind you, lad who told me doesn’t even watch Burnley anymore, I guess that’s what makes it all the more odd he mentioned it

Why would they postpone a press conference because we were signing someone?

I don’t know who it is, what position. Just that his medical was today and that it was to be passed on at the presser. First singing under a new era is always a big deal. Pace et al will want it to be a positive show of intention.

Not quite the pulse racing signing but it does show that a little club like Burnley can actually make a signing before the last hour of the window.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:04 pmAlso been told that, full back from Everton

Let's hope he is fitter than Phil Jones, he was a done deal, and still hasn't made the match day squad, not even against MK Don's!
Anyway regards tomorrows incoming, I hope its McNeil or Tarky back from Leicester we've missed them immensely

Burnley are believed to be weighing up a move for Kenny but, so far, there have been no talks between Everton and the Turf Moor club.
That from the Liverpool Echo.

They seem to think we're signing him for 7m over on the
Grand old team website.
Grand old team website.
Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I think I, like most Burnley fans, am thick skinned enough
to think I'll believe it when I see it so will happily wait until
something is officially announced.
Tired of all this speculation and rumours/links over the last few transfer
windows but do acknowledge it's important we get a few new faces in
whomever they may be.
It will be a boost to the team, club and fans to see some new (young?)
blood arriving.

All I want Burnley to do is be linked with a decent footballer. Someone that can actually pass or run with the ball.
Players we have been linked with so far are depressing to say the least

I would be very surprised if we signed someone tomorrow. As someone mentioned before, reporters/journalists are generally aware of any imminent signings. I can't see anything reported.

It’s going to be Troy Deeny isn’t it? And punt Vydra for a loss.
Proper Dyche style transfer dealing.

Have you seen the table? Schalke will I undoubtedly be in the second tier for next season. Houdini couldn’t get out of that.

The meltdown will be even better when there is no announcement at all which is what I'm expecting, far too early in the window for us to sign anyone

Daniel knows his stuff, has good insider info and is generally first with any news as was stated on here by another poster recently "nobody on here knows more than Daniel"
Clearly it is a big name due to the fact this is the reason the press conference was delayed so lets look forward to the unveiling.
Hopefully all of the above is accurate

Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Deeney is not an exciting prospect, but Dyche would play him and he would most likely score goals for us.
For all the shouting about him, he scored 10 goals in 27 league games last season for a relegated Watford team. He might be 32, but if on an 18 month contract is it really the worst idea in the world if we know that the manager trusts him to play? I am just saying!

I fear if it is Deeney, his largeEGO may upset the harmony, that we clearly have in the dressing room!
Re: January Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Suppose when you put it like that, and factor in he is another year older, will get limited minutes, and not take penalties, he could manage what Crouch didn't and get a goal between now and May.jedi_master wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 8:30 amDeeney is not an exciting prospect, but Dyche would play him and he would most likely score goals for us.

Andy Carroll might be a better option, ticks a lot of boxes

To be fair they're not halfway through their season yet, and only 4 points off the relegation play-off spot, 6 off staying up automatically.
