Garth Crook
Garth Crook
Lewis Dunk has made Garth Crooks’ team of the week. According to Garth, Brighton returned to the North West following their victory over Liverpool and “proceeded to play Burnley off the park”. Dunk’s team left with only one point which Garth says “didn’t do justice to their performance”. Well at least his geography is accurate if his game analysis is not.

He's always been a plank this guy. Makes you wonder how they get to where they are

Re: Garth Crook
Grade 1 prick. Stole a living since he retired from playing. One of the first black ex-players into the media and probably the reason it took so long for others to get a gig.

I keep being suckered in seeing if one of our players has been selected. I’ve learnt my lesson.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 11:35 pmServes you right for looking, surely you know better by now.

Re: Garth Crook
So funny.
Article even links the “played Burnley off the park” text to the BBC match reports which starts “ Burnley missed a flurry of second-half chances at Turf Moor” and goes on to say how we battered them.
BBC, eh? Don’t help themselves.

Re: Garth Crook
Try and pick your own team of the week at the bottom of the page.
Only 2 Burnley players available (Mee and Tarks) but 7 Brighton players, 4 of which are defenders who surely wouldn't be there if they had played us off the park.
Even Trossard is available and he was only on for the last 30 minutes during which they were being battered.
You couldn't make it up but it appears the Beeb can.

Re: Garth Crook
Didn’t he also say some time ago that he picked Alison rather than Pope because Pope didn’t play for a top club? There was me thinking it washed upon performance! Another example of pundits and BBC kowtowing to the “top 6”

Garth Crooks is the ultimate proof that just because you were employed to do something doesn't mean you understand anything about it

He must have a short memory. He was covering the Burnley and Newcastle games with Alex Scott on Final Score and they both agreed we were all over them second half.
Re: Garth Crook
Didn't Dion Dublin comment on MOTD words to the effect that in the second half we battered them and they were lucky to get a draw, even Potter made similar comments.

Re: Garth Crook
I gave up looking at his team of the week when he put (I think) Aguero in at left back, just to get him in the team

Crook and Morrison what a partnership would that be

He put Matip in not so long ago for his performance against Tottenham which he didn't even play in. Says it all.
Re: Garth Crook
I am sure there are retired professional footballers looking to get into punditry who are as stunned why that buffoon is allowed screen time as the average football fan is.

Re: Garth Crook
He lives by his name. Steals money from the BBC by pretending he knows what he's talking about.

Re: Garth Crook
I’ve noticed he has a bad habit of selecting defenders who’ve scored. Probably the reason Dunk made the selection.
To be fair he might have nothing to do with it. Just the BBC telling some young nose-picker to put 11 names down in some sort of team formation.

Re: Garth Crook
His preview for the match said:
"Looking at the league table, Fulham have scored more goals and so have West Brom. It's difficult to stay in this league if you don't score goals."
Try looking at the points column Garth.
Also, ten 1-0 wins and four or five 0-0 draws will be enough to stay up most seasons.
