Judging by a wish to see the back of Ben Mee, he will not be able to find the way to London, never mind cross the river. Of any player leaving Mee would be my absolutely not, tough as Tarks would be to replace, Mee is essential to us as far asI can see.. I’m guessing the dummy has been spat out after a couple of errors... either that or Right Winger is studying for degree in Nobbery

Not bad at all.brexit wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 6:54 pmLet suppose you have a man with a plan to market the premier league at pace to the Spanish speaking Americas ( Mexico and central). So you find a suitable hungry manager with an acceptable playing style - ex Spanish international maybe coaching in the middle east. Then what you do is use some whizzbang technology to identify appropriate but affordable players from the lower European leagues. All you need next is an affordable football club with a large number of OOC and overrated players that can be shifted in summer. Buy the club but don't buy anyone in the first transfer window as your new manager is not in place. Current manager knows he going to club where he can commute and he is confident of bringing them back to PL.
Bingo - club a commercial success, ginger manager happy, Amazon get to make their new footie doc "Milltown Struggles with bothersome football fans"
and I become the legend that saw the future.

He is limited, but we play a low block system. That’s why Tarks and Mee are outstanding in OUR system. The system relies on limited CB’s.Right_winger wrote: ↑Mon Apr 12, 2021 7:50 pmNah just not a sheeple like most on here and can see how limited a player he is.
Keane took time to adapt to a more expansive system, Tarks will if he goes. Mee made a career by very early on understanding his weaknesses and finding a team and system that nullified them.
Brave move to leave City, paid off and then some.

SD will be looking at our position in the league first and foremost .
His level of professionalism will drive him to be looking at ways not to drop anymore points. I have a sense of dejavous, as we have all been here before at Burnley.
However I do honestly think having achieved our Premiership status for another season he might then consider the move to take over from Roy H.

One of the more amusing things about this board is the number of posters( and mods?) that assume they are in the know.
There has been a steady cleanout of the "old guard " in the club and those sources that are left are not in the loop.
Again you are deluded if you think you are supporting a community football club. Behind the scenes the club is being transformed in to marketable media entity that will appeal to central American audiences ( which is an untapped PL market).
Dycheball does not fit this profile he will be gone.

And yet PL teams fall over themselves to market themselves to the Asian market where matches are shown live in the morning.
PL football is pushing to be global. Central America - including Mexico is an easier sell than Asia due to the footballing tradition.

If a football club becomes a content provider it is effectively a publisher, using other platforms to distribute it's content and as such has no ownership of the primary data - we all know that publishing is a struggling business and the real money is made by the primary data owners both in terms of revenues and perhaps more significantly in the perceived equity value of the business in the minds of investors.
If football becomes a direct to consumer business, that owns the primary data and uses that to drive transactions regularly and monetise those transactions, then it will see equity values rise significantly and provide a return on investment - This is what I see our new board wanting to do.
The recent survey saw over 5000 responses (more than 4 times what they anticipated, it also provided them with a lot of raw data, it has quickly been followed by a specific drive to establish online registration and monetary transactions with the reprice Clarets+ and what appears to be a greater offering from the clarets store online. The ground has had it's wi-fi significantly improved and I expect that mobile apps will be used for concourse purchases soon, along with encouragement to buy from the store. Every transaction allows the club to build it's primary data profile on you, (I would not be surprised if they try to get away fans to do similar too) every online transaction will also make it easier for them to nudge you into more such transactions going forward via targeted messaging and probably discount coupons.
The one English club that is truly leading the way in this area is Manchester City, it probably has more primary data (through the CFG empire) than any other club in the world, CFG effectively funnel it all back to benefit City (The Spanish giants Barca and Real are good at this too). That is why they have got so much from their minority investors and it is also why RedBird Capital paid $750m for a a 19% share of FSG, which saw them value Liverpool at over $4 billion

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
I just don’t see Dyche going to CP, if as CT is saying him looking to extend his contract is excellent news. I think going to another club would be a culture shock to him, he has moulded this club in a set way by getting players to buy into his strategy and put the work in and the end justifies the means.
Would he be able to handle the ego’s within another team, he has fallen out with players during his time at Burnley. A good manager at one club doesn’t automatically translate to being good at at another, Clough at Derby was excellent but couldn’t handle the players at Leeds.
On another note no one knows what is in his existing contract, he could get a bonus based around net spend each year providing we stay up which could explain last few transfer windows.

It’ll surely take some monumental growth for these transactions to provide enough to even service the debt (appreciating that the debt can be serviced by PL monies).Chester Perry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 5:33 pmI have made a few posts around this topic on the MMT thread in the last few days

Is the key element for potential investors the number of data subjects available to them or the number of and value of transactions that they make?
So effectively, investors (or should I call them partners) further aim to monetise our hopefully growing customer base to their own ends? Am I in the right ball park here?
If so, I don’t see where the uniqueness is that Pace talked about in his early communications about the investment. I don’t see something that others aren’t doing or won’t do better (particularly those starting from a bigger base). I also don’t see that sitting well with your traditional fan, not just of Burnley but of all clubs.
I’ve glossed over your comments relating to local businesses previously, but if my understanding here is somewhere on the right track, Im starting to appreciate where you’re coming from.

Re: Dyche to Palace at the end of the season
All investors are interested in the transactions that can be monetised, and how often a data subject makes such transactions together with the lifespan of of such behaviour, There will also be interested in what proportion of the data subjects are regular users. Owning the primary data does mean that you can market that outwards but critically it stops multiple counting of social interaction users - i.e. Manchester United claim over a 1 billion fans simply by adding up Facebook, twitter, youtube, instagram, tiktok users etc. whereas investors believe that a many of those a the same users who interact across multiple platforms and many are never really monetised - which is why Manchester United is valued at $4.2 billion and not $100 billion+ like those platformsDCWat wrote: ↑Tue Apr 13, 2021 11:40 pmIt’ll surely take some monumental growth for these transactions to provide enough to even service the debt (appreciating that the debt can be serviced by PL monies).

Proving the approach at a small club like Burnley (particularly the regular monetisation of transactions from your primary data subjects) means you can then spin off the approach as a separate business that serves other clubs (problem is there are quite a few different American investors trying to do that, never mind the multiple clubs and leagues across Europe that are also seeking to do the same). Checketts has already been heavily involved in the early stages of such a business in the US - Legends Hospitality - That became a $1.4 billion company earlier this year when Private Equity bought a majority stake, it is already active in Europe at both Real Madrid and Liverpool amongst others.
Everything I see from ALK is about proving their worth with our club and spinning off multiple businesses from it, it will be interesting to see if they plough the profits (should they come) back into the club. We may be able to take some comfort in the fact that the club needs to be viewed as successful for their other interests to also be successful.

Exactly, including economically and politically, what with Mexico being one of three countries forming the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) ~ the other two being Canada and the US.
You will struggle to find a Mexican who considers themselves central American.
